In my NVidia Driver I already setted VSYNC to ON since a while now and it didn't solve the problem.

In Nvidia's driver you can choose to let the application handle or to force. Mine is on forced mode of course.

Thought you had THE solution

OK, on my clean MCE2005 install, I set the Nvidia graphics driver properties so that VSYNCH is set to ON (by default, it is set to "Let application decide", if you deselect this, then you can change the value to eitehr ON or OFF).

LiveTV still tearing.

Next Steps:
1. Try a refresh rate of 50Hz. If not fixed, back to 60Hz.
2. PCI Latency. If not fixed, reset back to original.
3. Frodo's suggested MS patches. If not fixed, I'll still leave these ones in.

I know I've tried these before, but now I have a clean install, I want to try again in a much more controlled manner.

Stay tuned...

I did a test yesterday with a Nvidia 5200 128 Mb card and diffrent driver..
I hookt up the system to a broadcast analyser and this is the resault..
This is a low budget card 40euro!

Resolution used: 800*600:1024*768:1280*720
VGA and DVI signal

Nvidia Driver ver.77.77: V-sync set to on..
TS on : H-sync is fine C-sync jumpy pending of range +- 0,5-1%
TS off : H-sync in range 0.1-0.4% V-sync pending alot +- 4-14%

Omega drive set 1.6693: V-sync set to always on
TS on : H-sync is fine C-sync jumpy pending of range +- 0,1-0.3%
TS off : H-sync isfine V-sync pendig in range +- 0,1-0,4%

No bigger diffrent off codec use...
More stability in the signal on 75Hz then 60Hz

But this is note a signal I want to use for broadcasting!!!

Gone make some test on a ATI

Are you really using VMR9 Windowless? What happends if VMR9 Renderless is used?
[/quote]

Yes I use Windowless..
Note any big diffrent using Renderless!!! The onli thing is that i can get
3 thin lines in fast moving scens .. Dont happen so offen...
Think this is a memory problem on my card .. only 64 Mb

I have a 6600GT, latest drivers (78.03) and I get tearing on DVDs, videos and live TV. It's usually only when the picture pans or there's lots of movement on the screen... but it's DEFINTELY an MP thang, cos PowerDVD, WinDVD, mediaplayer, mediaplayer classic etc etc all run perfectly. Only MP gives me this tearing.

Fortunately the wife's eyes must be on a different frequency than mine... she's not picking it up.

It annoys the t!ts off me though.

I'll try the Timeshift 'fix' tonight and also the VSync fix... I can also tweak the Hz... BUT it's only MP giving me this issue!

Any ideas out there?!

I do have the same problem as voxmortis, with a twinhan dvb-s card. Its very annoying. Do anyone have a solution to this problem? It must be a MP problem, cus all the other players work fine.
