I think many people miss this feature - at least those who remember and used TVE2. Those who don't will eventually find out how useful this is. I remember that WAF decreased much when I went TVE3, solely due to the lack of this feature.

Haven't tested this yet, as I was hoping to solve some issues first (skip stepping goes bananas), but as this seems to take some time, I'll give it a try this weekend (hopefully).

    :D

I always thought that this was wanted by many users but measured by the time it is implemented nobody seems to be interested anymore so i haven't got much feedback if it's working as it should.

It's very much wanted! What has kept me from testing it is

Please do the first tests with only one buffer file.
    :D

I really don't know the implications of that. I've asked in https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...tion-how-can-i-increase-timeshift-time-68746/ about those settings, but...

For me this is not working unfortunately... Just to be clear: I only need to create the textfile?

    Here's what I'm doing:
    - Select a channel
    - Wait a few minutes
    - Select "record" -> "current program"
    - Wait for the record to finish
    - Watch recording

But the recording only starts from the point where I started recording...

That's correct. There should have been a subfolder created in the recordings folder where the buffer files are located.
You can use the tool attached in the first post or configure the comskip plugin.

Note: You can also use the comskip plugin in TvServer even if you don't use comskip. It just executes an app when a recording starts or ends;)

    Just check the first post

aaaah, thx now I understand the concept ;)

Yeah the subfolder has been created but I was under the impression that the joining would happen automatically... Are you planning on fully including this functionality to the svn?

I will test this with the comskip plugin later.

Strangely it doesn't work anymore, the directory with the temporary files isn't created... (I deleted it once, could this be the problem?)

I included logs from mediaportal and tvserver.

same here, first time worked perfectly.

I then deleted the recording, the tsbuffer folder

tried again. did not create the tsbuffer folder.

cant seem to reproduce the problem.

what i DID find is an error if the tsbuffer file already exists. I did it on purpuse to see how it behaved.

so i guess that first it should delete files inside tsbuffer, or create a new one. In multiseat environment i think a new one should be created as another client could be using the existing one.
