Also, should the phrase be "2 Unread Email(s)" or "2 New Email(s)"?

I think "2 Unread Email(s)" is the way to go.
and then we can remove the manual label in the home xml file
    :D

This is what I have come up with. I think it gives the user complete flexibilty of how/where they want the messages to show...

It will be included in the next release...

    Update...

Okay guys, try the new 0.3 version on for size... There are a lot of changes in this version, so please delete your old eMail.db3 database.

    Changes...

    - Modified config to allow for more options, and to test/delete accounts.
    - Added better support for Unicode emails.
    - Added better checking of special characters on pop3 accounts.
    - Reworked some of the message retrieval system (I will be revamping completely over the next few weeks to make it more efficient/quicker.)

Please post your logs with issues...

    Wile e.

Frankly, I prefer the beautiful "traditional" layout of StreamedMP :)
So I just slightly rearranged your skin files.

The second screen indicates some strange things when using pop3 account.
Can you please investigate this one?

    Thx!

    Hey VRM,
If you like, I would like to use your skin files for StreamedMP, if you could please post them and I will include them in the next buid...

    Sure, files are attached.

Plugin gets better and better, thanks!

    Some issues, illustrated with screenshots.

1, imap only: when formatting text to display, line break creates "="
2, imap: some more Unicode issues with foldernames and some messages.
3, pop3: every time I start mediaportal, plugin creates strange messages without actually having new ones.
4,5 pop3 only: unicode characters are fine, but if sender's name contains unicode, line break occurs between name and address (speaking of which, I think the address shouldn't be displayed at all).

    Random issues:
1, new mail notification sometimes lose focus so it is not possible to have it disappeared.
2, starting the plugin make mediaportal hanged up.

    Hey VRM,
Thanks again for helping me test this out!

Could you send your trouble emails from 1 & 2 to my Gmail account? And send the emails from 4 & 5 to my Hotmail/MSN account? I can then better detect the issues your having.

As far as 3 goes, I need to find a way to better detect "already downloaded" emails on the POP accounts.
I will also investigate your random issues to see what is going on with those (maybe timeout issues?)

    :D

    Update...

I have corrected most of the issues VRM reported & a few others, and posted 0.4 version. I had to add a few additional fields to the POP3 message table, so please delete your database before installing. I'm hoping this is the last database change...

I posted the changes on the first post...

    Hey, it's almost perfect!

Now what am I supposed to do with 216 unread POP3 messages? :)
Maybe the first time POP3 messages shouldn't be marked as new.

:D for all your works with this great stuff!

And one more little thing
When switching pop3 to imap accounts and vice versa, you can notice a little re-alignment of listview.
POP3's list is slightly moving left. This breaks harmony :)

216!!!! Dude, now I know why you need this plugin, to check your mail more often LOL :)

I could do a pre-check to see if there are no messages in the POP table (meaning this is the first 'get') and mark all messages seen.

If this is the only thing you can find wrong, Im a happy guy!!! :)

I noticed that the pop messages show the seconds, and the IMAP messages do not, that is what is causing the break in harmony switching views. I will update to only show time with HH:MM.

:D again for all your testing VRM! You have helped push this plugin forward...

This is exactly what we need.

That's great, but can you split date and time from sender and subject?
Listview would look better this way:
Sender name- Subject text aligned to left Date Time aligned to right
So listview would have constant width (see tvseries what I mean).
