Hi m3rcury,

I've read the updated wiki but can't find any advice how to configure the plugin to sync the watch status of files in the my videos section / pulgin. At the moment I deactivated this option.

Are there any hints?

Can you advise which plugin. Is it MP-TVSeries or the default MediaPortal Videos one?

The plugin should cater for this automatically, unless it is using some other file in the database that I am not aware of, since I use MP-TVSeries. Can you upload your videos database and give me a couple of examples of the movies/series the watch status is not being updated, so that I confirm if the plugin caters for your scenario.

I think I know where the problem is: my bad English ;)

I watch movies with the Moving Pictures plugin. But if I want to watch other files like a documentation or a self made move e.g. comicCon.avi I enter "My videos" and then I browse the folders to the corresponding directory. This comicCon.avi was never imported into any movie or video database. If I watch only the first 10 minutes for instance, I can resume from this position. But if I activate the sync for videos witch watch status the comicCon.avi will start at the beginning.

    Do you understand my problem?

Thank you very much for your help and sorry for the trouble.

    Regards,
    Christian

Thanks for the clarification. Would it still be possible to upload the VideoDatabaseV5.db3 or send it directly to me via pm so that I see the configuration.

I've a problem with the set up of MPSync.

All my videos, etc. are stored on client A (for example on drive D:\).

I've created a share on client A for MPSync and configure MPSync this way:
    Client DB Path:
    C:\ProgramDataTeam Media Portal\Mediaportal\Database

    |
    v

    \\Media-PC\database

When I click on "Syncronise Now" my database has copied to the share.

    --------------------------
On client B I have maped the D:\ drive of client A as D:\, so all paths will work on both clients and installed my plugins (now I see fresh databases at "C:\ProgramDataTeam Media Portal\Mediaportal\Database" on client B).

Then I set uo MPSync this way:

    C:\ProgramDataTeam Media Portal\Mediaportal\Database

    ^
    |

    \\Media-PC\database

When I click on "Syncronise Now", I see that the databases are copied from the share to the local storage.

When I now open Moving Pictures (for example) on client B, there are no films.

    Any idear whats wrong?

    Hi Crix1990,

I had some problems with my first sync too. Here is my workflow (as far as I remember):

    C = Client / S = Server

    1. I deleted the DBs on C1 and C2

    2. I opened Configuration.exe on both clients. Now fresh DBs will be created.

    3. I synced S (is the master client on the TV Server) with timestamp.

    4. I synced C1 and C2 with timestamp too. After this step the DBs are "full" / synced.

    5. I configured C1 and C2 to sync after the initial sync with trigger.

    Good luck :)

Well it seems to help, thanks.

But another problem (a littel bit off topic).
I've now all paths as D:\Movies\Moviname

But when the Client cames up before the server does, die drive will not mapped (thats normal for windows).
So I want to change the path to the share (\\Mediapc\movies\Moviname).
Is there a way to migrate my databases?
I mean everything will be the same, I just want to change the first part of the path.

Or do I have to reset all my databases?

Crix1990, you can either manually update the database or else have a look into this thread and see if it helps.

@m3rcury: I have to ask again concerning my post from there: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...t-synchronization.117417/page-40#post-1029040.
I set up my server as described in the wiki. Now I have created one thumbs folder and thats it. The database location was stated under the
database tab before updating. Do I have to set up the folder set on my clients as well?
Sorry if I seem a bit stupid - I guess that's pretty easy once I understood how you meant this things to be.

    RicoHTPC, no worries...

Yes, if you want to synchronize to the client, you need to do the same, but you need to configure synchronization direction in the opposite, i.e. from the server to the client. This is the same setup as was before, but now it allows you to create multiple sets for different folders.

    Hope this helps.
