i'm just downloading and try it out. it has some upscaling stuff in it like windvd. i hope its not just DVD's again although i assume it is restricted to it (which means it wont work for TVrecordings)

i would be a lot more interested in any facts about using it's upscaling capabilties in Mediaportal... we'll see.

edit: I'm even more interested in the TrueTheaterMotion which seems to be something like (digital) natural motion, which i like pretty much.

i'm just looking @ it through VNC, so i cant really test it right now, but when playing a DVD those option are greyed out anyways, regardless if its a DVD or something else

maybe it's disabled in the trial? Blu Ray Playback is also disabled. I am at home now and will also test it.

Tried the PowerDVD 9 codec today, had some strange issues. Video just stopped or paused then turned into a slide show! I've reverted back to the PowerDVD 8 codec and all is well now.

As far as I can understand from AVSForum the upscaling is a part of PowerDVD and not the PowerDVD codec, so it will only work with DVDs played in PowerDVD. And it only work without HW-decoding.

Anyone else have experience of this PDVD9 codec? Would it be worth trying it in MediaPortal, IYO?
