Re: AW: Re: AW: Re: PowerScheduler++ 1.2.1.2 - Stable version for MediaPortal 1.2.1 F

Sorry, I should have explained it clearer: I need full logs of the whole timespan including the time when you scheduled the recording.
It would be great, if you could restart the tv service (e.g. from tv server configuration) as a first step of the test. Then start the MP client, schedule a recording and wait a while (at least 15 seconds) before you suspend your system by remote. See if it wakes up or resart it manually and send me the logs...

Michael

Hi,

New set of logs attached:
TV server stopped/restarted and then Mediaportal run in debug mode - plugins enabled.
Recording then scheduled in the EPG, waited > 15 seconds, put machine into S3 sleep via the remote.
No wake for the recording.
I manually woke the machine via the remote.

The scheduled programme was Prank Patrol Down Under on 11/11/2011, 3:40PM -> 4:00PM.
Scheduled recording set at 3:24PM and machine put to sleep at 3:25PM.
Manually woken at 5:02PM.

Thanks.

AW: Re: AW: Re: AW: Re: PowerScheduler++ 1.2.1.2 - Stable version for MediaPortal 1.2

Hi,

the PS++ plugin could not save the wakeup time for the scheduled recording, because you suspended the system too short after programming the recording. Your PS++ check interval is set to 60 sec, so PS++ checks only every minute for changes and thus did not get the new schedule before the system was suspended. The way such asynchronous events are handled has been optimized in the new alpha version of PS++ (1.2.5.0), but for the stable version (1.2.1.2) I can only recommend you to set the check interval to 10 or 15 seconds (too short would result in excessive CPU load).

Ahh, of course - that makes sense.

All working well now, thanks very much!

Thanks for a great plugin, but I have a problem - at the moment the PC has come on in this silent mode to record, but I have now come in to watch the TV. Can you explain how I can 'activate' the screen and sound and regain control over my TV while it continues to record?

With "silent mode" you mean "away mode"? Away mode is left on any user activity (mouse, remote, keyboard). If this is not the case for you, you should send me logs beginnning at the moment when you enter the "silent mode".

Yes, sorry 'away mode'. In fact the system had hung. I could only see the first few minutes of the scheduled recording. Looking at the Windows logs I see that there was a Windows update at that time: "Package KB2641690 was successfully changed to the Installed state". I'll assume that was the problem, but I've checked 'intensive logs' for next time.

@fegl84 and Testudo
Please no German conversation in the English forum.

Michael

:sorry: about that. I answered automatically in German. :sorry:

Hi Testudo,

ich habe auch Asus Mainboard. Nur "Power on From S5 By PME#" ist im Bios aktiviert.

Aber funktioniert es da auch mit S4 bzw. S5? Ich bevorzuge S4, da ich mehr strom sparen will.

Wie gesagt, ersten 2 Tagen hat es funktioniert. Jetzt nicht mehr! Wollte nur wissen worann es liegt?

Gruß
Flo

The answer now in english.
It is equal if you use S3 or S4. Power on by PME should be the right option.
S5 is System Off and the automatically wake up will not be act! The only way for wake up from S5 is "Wake Up by RTC" / "Power on by RTC".
Please check, if in Windows Power Managment the Option "wake up by power managment event" activ (or similar).
If this option off, the wakeup timer will not be set (maybe).

Regards

Hello fegl84,

here now my power settings: "See also attached Screenshots"

BIOS:
Power on From S5 By PME# = enabled
Power on From S5 By Ring = enabled
Power on From S5 By RTC Alarm = disabled

 Why S5  -> S5 is definitely Soft Off, and in Soft Off is only RTC Alarm possible

Now in German, I don't know it in English, sorry:

Windows Energiesparoptionen:
Systemsteuerung ->Energieoptinen ->Erweiterte Energieeinstellungen ändern ->Energie sparen ->Zeitgeber zur Aktivierung zulassen Einstellung: Aktivieren

Regards
Testudo
