Hello Flo,
You can try it with an new installation of ps++ or uninstall ps++ an try it with medipoartals buildin powerscheduler.
So you can check, which software makes somthing wrong.

In the past I had several problems with the BIOS on ASUS Mainboards. The only way to fix it was to load default values and set all my needed settings new.
Maybe is this also a solution for you?

Regards
Testudo

Edit:
Sorry for my bad english, I know it is very "German"

The first test was succesfully!

I hope the problem is solved for ever!

Re: PowerScheduler++ 1.2.1.2 - Stable version for MediaPortal 1.2.1 FINAL

I got a similar problem. I also want to wake up my pc from S5 and it does not work for me.

I used the build in power sheduler some month ago to try the wake up function and it worked. Now i want to use ps++ because i want to suspend to s5. The pc wont wake up.

All important setting are enable

Power on From S5 By PME# = enabled
Power on From S5 By Ring = enabled
Allow wake timers = enabled

For me it is important to suspend to s5 cuz supending to s4 or s3 forces a blue screen very often which im not able to fix.

In the ps++ wiki there is written "Warning:
With Shut down - S5 the system goes to soft power off state from which it might not be able to wake up automatically"

For me the big question is, why there is an option to suspend to s5 if the wake up does not work from s5?
Is there another solution, for me the whole recording function is not usable as long as i cannot wake up from s5.
Btw, waking up the pc with a wol package works well for almost 2 years now.

Thanks
Henric

Hello Henric,
S5 is Soft Off! PCs can only start by RTC Alarm from S5.
Wake up timers who set from Windows have only effect in S3 or S4 mode.
Which Hardware do you have?
Do you use a SSD? Some SSDs have problems with wake up from Standby.
Is your RAM o.k.? Bad RAM causes standby problems.

Testudo

Edit:
WOL do technicaly the same as a press on the power button. The network adapter activated with a trigger impuls the power on signal on the mainboard.

Re: PowerScheduler++ 1.2.1.2 - Stable version for MediaPortal 1.2.1 FINAL

I'm not having problems geting from s3 or s4 up but getting down to s3 or s4. Especially while writing the data to the hdd i got the blue screen, so you can speculate it is a hdd or ram problem BUT i got the same problem when the hardware in my htpc was my desktop pc. Only parts i use for the htpc is the board, cpu an power supply. I got a new ssd, new ram and still the problems. I tried to analyze the problem with ms debugging tools. Believe me i tried so much to avoid those blues. I'm it on profession so i'm not that new on the terms ;-)

I still dont understand, why there is an option on ps++ to suspend to s5 if wake up from s5 is not possible(i approved this on google befrore you anwsered ;-) )? The work around shouldt be sending an wol package when the pc has to wake up to record.

I didn't understand this. Who will send this WOL package? The HTPC itself?

I think I can't help you.
It's a pity.

Hi, i am using this plugin on my Zotac Next Gen ION system ID41 and have issues. If i use the windows start=>sleep i can resume the system by remote or keyboard, but if i use the Mediaportal Sleep within the powerscheduler plugin (or the suspend on the former powerscheduler) the system hangs in some strange sleep/hibernation mode i cannot get it out. I have to press on/off button for 4 seconds to turn it off and then press it again to restart te system.
Can anybody relate to my issue? And how is Mediaportal Powerscheduler Sleep different from the Windows Sleep?
