Not sure what happened here or if the PC had just woken or stayed awake from earlier but I wasn't able to tune into any channels and had to stop the TVService and restart it. Can you tell from the logs if this is connected to PS++ at all? If not, I'll report it as a general bug but I thought I should check here first.
At what day / time did this happen? The tvserver.log file seems ok:confused:

It would have been just before I made the logs. I see "WaitforPMT: Timed Out" and "EPG could not tune" errors starting at 18:48:13 so I guess something went wrong then (I wasn't using the PC at this time). These continue right through to 21:01 when I stopped TVService.

Anyway, if it doesn't happen again I'll just have to put it down to a freak incident

Hi Michael,

I would really appreciate your help with this problem that has just crept into my HTPC within the last few days. What's happening is that when i wake the PC from standby using the MCE remote, the PC turns on but TV screen stays blank (i.e looks like it has gone straight to Away mode instead of waking up properly). I haven't found a cure other than killing thee power to the PC and rebooting. Logs attached - i'm hoping you will find something!

This has all been working perfectly for me over the last year i guess - since you provided me with a patch for the NetworkHandler problem i had (back on page ~32 of this thread i think). Although i have recently updated MP and PS++, i'm pretty sure that there were one or two occurrences of this problem before the updates...

Thanks!

At what time did this happen? I could not find any indication of a wakeup / resume event in your logs:confused: Please be sure that the logs provided cover the failure situation.

I have just switched over to PS++ from standard PS but I am not sure whether I have an issue or a limitation....

What I want to do is run my xmltv import at a set time every day but to generate the xml to import I need to run a script.

I have been running this as a Windows scheduled task and when a new file is detected the xmltv plugin automatically picks it up and imports it. I would like to do this all within MP really.

I have just tried to get the grab EPG settings to do this.
    ps1.png

But when I tried this it does not seem to register that the machine needs to wake up (no matter what time I set). set this to about 20 mins in the future and waited for machine to go to sleep to see if it was just the label here not showing the right info but the machine did not attempt to wake.

In the logs I can see
    Code:
[2013-08-04 08:38:11,641] [Log	] [PS StandbyWakeup] [DEBUG] - PS: LoadSettings()
[2013-08-04 08:38:11,648] [Log	] [PS StandbyWakeup] [DEBUG] - EpgGrabbingHandler: EPG grabbing at 08:50

So it looks like this is set to start tomorrow? I did see something about PS only grabbing EPG once per day but I have not grabbed EPG via PS at all so why is this not scheduled to grab today?

If I set these options as shown will this work? (DVB EPG grabbing is disabled on all cards)

It was all in there (suspend @ time = 19:21), then nothing else because PC didn't wake up properly (PC came on but seemed to be stuck in Away mode). Anyway - good news, looks like it was PSU failure. It died completely yesterday and all is fine since replacing it. Thanks for taking time out to look.

    Hi!

Today I tried to solve the problems with installing Michael's test version from Jul 20. This was made to implement a delay which allows MediaPortalto find my audio device connected via HDMI.Unfortunately I wasn't successful with the installation:

    - stoped the TVService with "net stop tvservice"
    - installed the regular PS++ version shown in the MPEI without any error (I had to install this version to have an uninstall button somewhere. The test version only showed up in the server config but not in MPEI)
    - stoped tvservice again
    - rebooted
    - stoped tvservice again
    - uninstalled PS++ from within MPEI
    - stoped tvservice
    - installed the version Michael uploaded on Jul 20 with the "file -> open" dialog from within MPEI
    - access denied error to path: C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Installer\V2\9b9bc24e-69ca-4abc-8810-f8f95bd4bbe6\1.4.0.1\9b9bc24e-69ca-4abc-8810-f8f95bd4bbe6.mpe2
    - same effect as before: PS++ shows up in server config but not in MPEI

I really think this error is related to the test version because it does not occur when I install PS++ from the list of known extensions from within MPEI.

EPG grabbing is run only once a day. So if you have already run EPG grabbing (by whatever grabber), it will not take place on the same day again, but on the next EPG schedule. This is bad for testing, but makes sense in real life.

If I'm using Windows to control standby, do I need to set anything in PS++ to prevent it going to standby when watching/listening to media stored on the PC with an external media player (XBMC on Raspberry Pi) or will Windows prevent that anyway?

I think it should be prevented - to be sure have a look at the Wakeup/Standby Status in the PS++ server config.
