    Hello everyone,

    I have installed PS++ 1.3 using the "alternative method", copying the dlls manually to the TV Server folders. I am using a dedicated TV Server with WindowsServer 2012 and MP1.3 Final. I am aware that this OS is not supported by MP, but so far with a little tweeking everthing seems to work just fine.

    But when I activate the PS++ Plugin, which is correctly displayed with Version 1.3.0 in the TV Server Config, the TV Server Config crashes after pressing the "OK" button. I have tried different settings and modes, but it seems that the Server Config crashes no matter what settings are made. After deactivating the PlugIn, the Config program closes without an error.

    Any idea what I can do to get this wonderful plugin up and running ? Any experience with a server OS ?

    Thanks!

    Greetings,

    Merkur

    hi

    im new to powerscheduler. Have it installed on 2 tv client machines. I configure ps to htpc then play a playlist. on one machine it goes to sleep. im running as a local admin, power options have been set in gp. ive enclosed the logs .
    The logs provided do not show the sleep situation. I can only help you if you send me logs that do cover the time when the error occurs.
    What I could see from the logs is that you did not use the plug&play mode, which should be the basic setting for starting troubleshooting.
    You write that your power settings are set in "gp" (group policies?). You should let PS++ set the power settings (which it does if you use plug&play mode) and deactivate the group policy, because this would overwrite them again on each reboot. If your problem ist still existing then, send me logs of this situation.

    Thanks Michael

    I thought the logs were taken during the time when the computer went to sleep. Pardon my abbreviation, I was writing on my HTPC keyboard which is tiny, yes GP=Group policy. I will disable GP on the machine and retry, and ensure the logging is happening during the sleep situation.

    Hi there,

    A little feature request if I may....

    I have PS++ configured to manage/forcibly control standby.

    Is there a way of modifying PS++ to detect disk activity - based on threshold - similar to Network activity?

    Thanks,

    J.

    Hi again,

    are you aware of the "relative Mondfeuchte" ;-) ? I use it to blame for things i could not explain. Friday evening i turned on the plugin again after clearing the log directory, made some settings and press "OK" - and no crash...... :confused:

    Over the weekend i planned some recordings, and everything seems to work.

    If i encounter the error again, i will post the logs here.

    I have problems with my HTPC not going to sleep and I have to use "power scheduler forces system to go into standby" however, this will also put the PC into standby when MP is closed/minimized and I have just recently moved the mouse. Would it be possible to not force into standby if the mouse or keyboard has been used in the last X minutes.[DOUBLEPOST=1364720215][/DOUBLEPOST]
    ok over night my machine yet again failed to sleep and "powercfg -requestsoverride" showed ths had re appeared "[DRIVER] \FileSystem\srvnet" ive done yet more research and apparently this is to do with the following -
    Code:
    Allow Standby with Remote Opens
    By default, Windows 7 will attempt to prevent system standby when connected to a remote share or file.
    Presumably, this is to prevent any ongoing file transfers over the network from failing due to the system unexpectedly entering standby. But there are many cases where the system is connected to a remote share and it is okay to enter standby.
    Windows 7 includes a setting to allow the computer to enter standby, but it may be missing from the advanced power options dialog box.

    This .reg file will unhide the “Allow sleep with remote opens” option AND set it to Yes for three default power profiles (Balanced, High Performance, and Power Saver) in Windows 7:

    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\238C9FA8-0AAD-41ED-83F4-97BE242C8F20\d4c1d4c8-d5cc-43d3-b83e-fc51215cb04d]
    "Attributes"=dword:00000000

    "ACSettingIndex"=dword:00000001
    "DCSettingIndex"=dword:00000001

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\238C9FA8-0AAD-41ED-83F4-97BE242C8F20\d4c1d4c8-d5cc-43d3-b83e-fc51215cb04d\DefaultPowerSchemeValues\a1841308-3541-4fab-bc81-f71556f20b4a]
    "ACSettingIndex"=dword:00000001
    "DCSettingIndex"=dword:00000001

    when i applied this it immediately stopped the problem from being listed in the powerscheduler++ info window, so hopefully this will fix this ever lasting issue.

    I found this information from HERE so all thanks to them :)

    I have this problem too, and also independently found this solution. However it hasn't helped.

Would it be possible to not force into standby if the mouse or keyboard has been used in the last X minutes.
    I would like to do this if it were possible. But a service (like the MP TV Server) cannot get information about user activity. Therefore the "power scheduler forces system to go into standby" option should only be used for HTPCs where the MP client is always running.
    BTW: There should be no difference between minimizing the client and running it windowed or fullscreen.

    I think that if I have MP in the system tray and I am using the computer it will still goto sleep while I'm in the middle of doing something.
