To shorten the debate: I think that a user action (here: Power off) should be respected unless you have to prevent a damage that cannot be made good again. And this is only the case if you switch off during (and not before) an active recording. Then you will go to away mode instead of sleep mode when pressing on/off (provided your on/off button is mapped to sleep).

Michael

Hi!

I have the problem that pushing the on/off button of the remote puts the computer in standby even if there's an active recording.
So my button is not mapped to sleep I think ;)
Is it possible to also remap the main power button on the computer or is it "hard coded"?
If that is not possible- could PS++ also intercept "power off messages"?

TIA,
caveman

    Caveman:
may be a help - I had problems with the remote putting MP asleep too quickly, causing errors on resume.
So I went into power settings(win7 or 8) and configed the sleep button to do nothing. So I now leave MP in home screen, to puts its self the sleep. My system is more stable now

    Hi!

After a reboot it worked as it should.
But I've encountered another problem- I watched a tv recording and had an scheduled recording in the background (but the client didn't fully recognize it, so there was no "red dot" indicator shown at the top of the home menu).
At the end of the recording the computer instantly went to away mode (which was okay because the scheduled recording was not finished- although it should have waited the time I programmed in PS++ settings).

But after the scheduled recording was finished the computer stayed in away mode and didn't put itself in standby.
Can somebody confirm that or is it only me?

    TIA,
    caveman!

These are clear indicator that your system configuration is broken. No use to discuss standby / wakeup issues before your system is working properly. Then use "Plug&Play" mode in PS++ and you will see, everything is ok...

    I'll reinstall the whole system.

    Thank you,
    Caveman.

I do have some Problems with PS++.

I'm testing Scythe42 Area51 build. I have mentioned an issue with muting of the hdmi-device after resume under certain conditions.
The developers identified thsi as a bug in the normal PP plugin and it was recommended to me to switch to PS++.

    The discussion starts here:
    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...features-and-fixes.114566/page-62#post-984152

What is my actual problem with PS++?
It does not sent the htpc to standby after the configured idle time is gone.
Manually standby does work without any problems. Wakeup for a recording works too. Sending the htpc to sleep after the recording is over does also not work.

Is this a problem with interworking with the area51 build or is there a bad configuration done by my side?

    I have added my log.

    @megahorst:
Your MediaPortal and TVServer don't have the same version. This could really be a problem.
If you use Sebastiii's branch why not also install the TVServer from this branch?

    Code:
    TvServer Version: 1.3.0_RC1-45-g1ddd3d6-EXP-4090-Update_MySQL_5.6
    TvPlugin Version: 1.3.0.0

@Holzi: The TVPlugin is the one that Scythe has delivered. Bevore this I took Sebastiiis whole build. Server and client.
But you are right ist might be a problem to mix the versions.

I will try to make a clean install of 1.3 and keep the 5.6 MySQL and copy the Area51 build over this.

    Hi!

After the reinstall it seems to work.

But now I have another question: why is hybrid sleep turned off in HTPC preset (in case of a mains failure hybrid sleep could be the savior;))?

You where right @Holzi. the version mismatch prevented the PS++ from working. I did a new install of 1.30 and managed to keep the MySQL 5.6 DB.
Now everithing seems to work, also with Scythe's Area51 build.

    Thx
