I just released a corrected version of PS++ (1.3.0.2) which should be compatible with MP 1.4 pre-release

Still shows up as incompatible plugins in my mediaportal configuration.

It also says 1.3.0.1 in mediaportal but 1.3.0.2 in extensions manager

Hi !

I got a strange problem with 1.3.0.2 version in mp1.3.0.
Configured as Plug'n'play HTPC with 10Minutes Sleep Time.
Now if I watch TV without any remote or keyboard action nothing happens , MEPO stays on.
But if I press a remote button after that long time , the PC went to sleep immediately ?!
How can this happen ? It should go to sleep after some time of no user action, but NOT if a press a button ?!
Is there any settings configured wrong ?

This is a cracking plugin, a decent power solution that just works, I never have to think about it, great work! :D:D

In the future it would be great to have a couple of enhancements:
  1. Prevent sleep based on audio output. In the same way you can have it detect a network share it would be good if it could detect audio output being played. The use case is listening to spotify (or similar). I can't list spotify as an application to look for and prevent shutdown as its always there and hence would the PC never shut down. I'm looking for it to stay on while a play list is playing. But when it stops, then we're good to shutdown (or hibernate etc)
  2. Slow down CPU when mediaportal is playing a video full screen. The use case here is that if I'm just watching TV for many hours I don't need the processor running at full speed (especially with hardware offloading). So I've tested in windows power options limiting the processor to 50% and it still plays TV just fine while using less power. I've also set the process priority of mediaportal (TV+client) just above normal so that if any other background processes kick in they don't take priority CPU and you don't feel it. This all works fine, the reason for the request is it would be nice to know that if I'm interacting with the PC I get back the full power available and it only drops when "idling" and fullscreen video (TV, DVD anything). You'd think windows power management would automatically do this, unfortunately the load (30-45%) is just enough that it forces the processor to full speed even thought it doesn't actually need it (as proved by my testing). I've checked the wattage and I was saving around 6 watts on a 60 watt rig doing this.
Thanks,

Giulio
