what do you think about making your plugin selectable from/within the MP running (toggle on/off by keystroke and/or a button)?
So we can (in case off...) decide, that during "working with MP" your "golden-MP-prized-plugin" is NOT working in Background, and if i wish that you pluin does his work, i will switch it ON!
This could be an workariund AND an additional way, i think! (it's all because i can't live no more without your plugin..., now i'm MP-junkie)

I see you're having some problems getting the suspend mode to work. At the moment I have no explanation to the phenomena of log being written while computer is still suspended or why it doesn't power up.
I will have a look at this problem, but later when the more severe bugs are fixed since it still seem to work with hibernating.

About the on/off feature - I'll see if there is an easy way to do this and in that case I might doit4u :) .

My hibernation now works perfect. I used the second button (never used it before) to hibernate the PC and let the first one to shut it down. So I can hibernate it when a recording is scheduled and shut it down when nothing is to be recorded. My only problem is now an out of time recording. I posted it as bug because I think it depends on the MCE and EPG. Can anyone confirm my problem? The time markers (arrows on the top and bottom in EPG) are 5-10 minutes in the future and the recordings scheduled are so too. So a show is recorded too early and ends too early too.

I think the log is written into RAM and then written onto the disk. That's why you can see things happening. Why it doesn't power up, I certainly don't know, either, that is far beyond my skills ;-)

Practical reasons, I guess. Consider writing a log on a disk while the disk is heavily used (uncompressed recordings). That would disturb either writing the log or the recorded file. Letting it run through RAM you have a buffer. My fli4l router does it the same way, if I'm not wrong. And you can continously check the log even with MP running...

Once again Fred, thanks for the excellent plug-in.

I still have one problem with it though:
when watching recorded programs, the computer starts hibernating after the configured timeout.

I thought I only should do that when MediaPortal was in the Home screen?

Were you viewing the recorded programs full-screen? If so, Fred has determined that this is a bug - when MP displays video full screen, it sends a message to the Home screen, tricking Fred's plugin in thinking that MP is at the Home screen.

Also, when listening to music and not having switched to the playlist, it goes to standby. So: Playlist view - no poweroff, regular music screen (artist or album) - poweroff timer activated.
