AW: Re: PowerScheduler++ Version 1.2.0.10 (RC1)

joseosoria:
I do not know what BlastCfg.exe does and why it did not work for you. First you should check from your log (tv.log) if the command is actually run by PowerScheduler++ on wakeup. And note that PowerScheduler adds an argument (here: wakeup) to the command; maybe BlastCfg.exe does not accept this...

yhoogi:
The scheduled reboot did work. It was scheduled at 4:00 but postponed until 06:25 because of an active recording.
After coming up from this this reboot your system suspended very fast (within one minute). From the logs I could see that PowerScheduler++ had not enough time to retrieve the next wakeup time because of this sudden suspend. Thus your system stayed in sleep mode until you manually woke it up at 19:20. I have no idea what caused the sudden suspend. Please make sure your system idle timeout is not configured too short.

fnokke:
Seems that your PowerScheduler++ server plugin is not running. There are lots of errors because the connection from client to server plugin fails...

Re: PowerScheduler++ Version 1.2.0.10 (RC1)

thanks for the response.
blastcfg.exe i is the hauppauge ir blaster exe to control the channel changing of the set top box.
if i program mp to record a show at channel 65 for example,
and my set top box is on x channel at the time of recording,
then mp has to send the right channel command to the set top box
to record from that channel.
i tested mp to see if the channel is changed , and yes , it works
i programed imon to tun on htpc from scratch 3 minutes before a record starts and mp before
recording used ir blaster to get to the channel.(it was in channel 155 and mp changed it to 62 as expected)
i dont know why the ir blaster does not turn on or work after htpc wakes up from s3 or hibernation.
it works fine when htpc is turn on from scratch, but as soon as i put the htpc
to sleep then wake up, ir blaster(blastercfg.exe) has to be turn on manually
then mp can change channels again.
that is why i put it's path in the program to be executed after wake up tab.
maybe i am calling the wrong program for the ir blaster.
oh something else, i had to uninstall the power scheduler++
because when is enable in mp config, and then i try to load mp
mp gets stuck at loading plugins screen, and never loads up.
if i desable the plugin in mp config then mp(1.1.2) works again.

Could you send logs, so that I can analyze your problem?

ok, now let me find out where i can find the logs in mp so
i can send them to you.
i have been using mp for a few years now but
i dont know anything about logs , only that they record events.
i will read some threads to find out where and how to get them.

    Thx,

    Somehow the sleep-mode was set to 1min in the Powermanagement. Duno how this happened, as I didn't changed it over the last few weeks.

    Cheers,

    Re: PowerScheduler++ Version 1.2.0.10 (RC1)

    ok, here is the log.
    i reinstalled the plugin and for the first time it did work.
    but it woke up the pc 10 minutes earlier, don't know why
    it is programed to wake up 1 minute before recording starts
    then tried to suspend the pc like 7 times but it did not do it , so
    i restarted it
    then i made another test and it didn't even woke up the pc.
    i pressed power on my imon pad and then tried to load mp
    and mp stopped at loading start up devices screen(translated from spanish)
    i had to call windows task manager and again it says splash screen not responding
    i tried to use the third option from mp debug mode but i had a message about
    unexpected something in netframework and the debug thing got stuck too, had to close it
    with task manager too, so second option allowed me to get the log, i hope it works
    for you for analysis purposess
    forgo to tell you , had to desable the plugin again and then i load mp but tv always say error not tv card available, so had to unistall the plugin for the tv to work properly

    joseosoria:
    What I can see from your logs is that you ran the original PowerScheduler server plugin until 02.11. 15:29. At that time you restarted your tvservice with the PowerScheduler++ plugin, which worked without problems until 16:14, when you stopped tvservice (reboot?). When tvservice was restarted at 16:15 (PowerScheduler++ server plugin running) you made a sudden suspend within less than one minute so that tvservice could not come up properly. After a while at 16:31 and 16:44 you tried to run MP client which did not work maybe due to tvservice not running properly. But since the tvservice made no more logs after 16:15 I have no idea what was going on...
    As a first step to improve system reliability you should reduce the PS++ check interval from 60 seconds to 15 seconds. Then you should watch if your system is running smoothly with PowerScheduler++ client and server plugins (scheduled wakeup, suspend after idle timeout, ...). And if this is all ok, you could check suspend and wakeup scenarios with blastcfg.exe.

    Re: PowerScheduler++ Version 1.2.0.10 (RC1)

    Michael_T,

    Thanks for the updates to PowerScheduler, you have made some big improvements!

    I was wondering if it would be possible to add a feature where you can enter the IP addresses of the MP clients on your network and make it so that the server will only power down when none of the client IP addresses are "alive" on the network.

    This would be useful for multi-seat systems where there is centralised storage of music and film data on the TV Server. When the client is switched on, it will magic packet the server during recovery from hibernation, then the server will stay on until the client is no longer on. Effectively the server pings the IP addresses every 4 minutes and if there is a reply, then it doesn't sleep.

    Would this be possible?

    Thanks

    This is already working with MP clients (and the PS++ client plugin enabled). As long as the MP client is running, the PS++ client plugin signal to the PS++ server plugin that it should not suspend. The other functions (network activity, active shares are only needed for other devices (without MP / PS++ client plugin).
