AW: PowerScheduler++ Test Version 1.2.5.0 for MP 1.2.x / 1.3 Alpha

Is it possible to increase "somewhere else" (in the plugin itself e.g.)?
No, it is built into the code.

The other bug (not saving "Set Power Settings automatically" is fixed in the new version 1.2.5.1.

    "overcome the functional differences" - too few reading, too much posting ...
    This refers to the different way local and remote clients are managed in PowerScheduler, not to the client functonality as such. But I will try to consider your wishes in the client redesign.

    That would be awesome. I do not miss the TV-Server (just not watching so much TV) but the functionality of PowerScheduler++.

    Re: PowerScheduler++ Test Version 1.2.5.x for MP 1.2.x / 1.3 Alpha

    Hi guys!

    The wiki says:
    PowerScheduler++ prevents your system from going to a power-saving state (standby) while
    User is active
    Playing media (Music, Video, Radio, TV, …)
    I have a few questions though:
    1) does this also prevent another xp profile/user to shutdown the system when a scheduled recording is in progress?
    2) if that other user is playing music with for example media player, does that count as 'playing media' and prevent the system from going into one of the sleep modes?

    I've installed MP on the a desktop for a friend which is also used as HTPC but the problem is to use both 'simultaneously'.

    TIA!

    PowerScheduler++ prevents your system from going to a power-saving state (standby) while
    User is active
    Playing media (Music, Video, Radio, TV, …)
    This means that the system is not going to standby automatically (idle timeout). It does not mean that a manual standby request (remote off, power button, lid close, ...) is prevented. This will be done only while a recording or timeshifting or some other activity configured in PowerScheduler++ to prevent power off is in progress. On Windows XP the system will then ignore such a manual suspend, on Vista / Win7 the system will go to away mode (keep running without display and sound).

    I have a few questions though:
    1) does this also prevent another xp profile/user to shutdown the system when a scheduled recording is in progress?
    I assume you mean "standby" and not "shutdown". Going to "Standby" is prevented independent of the user account (even administrator) or process/application that wants to suspend the system. But you have to map all manual "shutdown" actions (power button, remote off, lid close, Start menu->Shut down, ...) to "Standby", since a power off or reboot cannot be prevented (on Vista / Win7 not even a "hibernate").
    2) if that other user is playing music with for example media player, does that count as 'playing media' and prevent the system from going into one of the sleep modes?
    No, "Playing media" only means playing media with MediaPortal, but I think that Media Player has its own mechanism to prevent an idle timeout standby while playing media.

    Re: PowerScheduler++ Test Version 1.2.5.x for MP 1.2.x / 1.3 Alpha

    Hi there,

    I have upgraded my main HTPC to your latest version...it seems to work ok.

    I then tried upgrading one of my clients (without TVServer installed), I used MPEI and it installed ok.

    But when I go into MePo config, select Powerscheduler++ and click on config I get an exception error (see attachment) - any ideas?

    Nothing is recorded in the logs :(

    Thanks,

    J.

    Re: PowerScheduler++ Test Version 1.2.5.x for MP 1.2.x / 1.3 Alpha

    Hi, i am using this plugin on my Zotac Next Gen ION system ID41 and have issues. If i use the windows start=>sleep i can resume the system by remote or keyboard, but if i use the Mediaportal Sleep within the powerscheduler plugin (or the suspend on the former powerscheduler) the system hangs in some strange sleep/hibernation mode i cannot get it out. I have to press on/off button for 4 seconds to turn it off and then press it again to restart te system.
    Can anybody relate to my issue? And how is Mediaportal Powerscheduler Sleep different from the Windows Sleep?

    Thanks for the bug report. You can work around the bug by choosing an idle timeout setting more or equal than "2" in your Windows power settings. Then apply PS++ config changes and reset the idle timeout to "0 / never" in the Windows power settings. I will correct the bug in the next release.

    Re: PowerScheduler++ Test Version 1.2.5.x for MP 1.2.x / 1.3 Alpha

    Hi there,

    Apologises for not getting back sooner.

    Your suggestion for adjusting the sleep timeout on my client worked - thanks :)

    But unfortunately I have another issue... :(

    This time its with my single seat, everything appears to work except for when I have a scheduled reboot set. The HTPC wakes up, but dees not sleep afterwards.

    I have attached my logs (unfortunately not at debug level - I have now set them to that and will updated the next time it fails to sleep after a scheduled reboot)

    When I checked the status of the screen when it hadnt slept, MePo client had frooze :(

    Thanks,

    J. :D
