    Re: PowerScheduler++ Test Version 1.2.5.0 for MP 1.2.x / 1.3 Alpha

    Hi michael_t

    I really have to thank you for your effort. Ps++ is working great for me. I do think the method of letting windows behave as it should is superior to any other. I have one request or basically an improvement idea.

    The Away mode does save me from a lot of broken recordings, so I tend to just power down (standby) my htpc. But if I am watching tv and a recording is going on mp will stay on even after the recording has finished. This is because the playing media is not stopped on a power message. Could you add a stop command (double stop if tv is fullscreen) before going to away mode?

    Waking up your PC by remote has nothing to do with MediaPortal or PowerScheduler. It is an operating system functionality in combination with hardware. Your hardware (IR receiver) detects that the remote is sending a special code ("On") and wakes up (switches on) your PC. At the moment it is running again, the operating system continues the execution of the suspended programs and Mediaportal / PowerScheduler are active again...

    So first you should try to get your PC waking up from S3 by remote without complications by Mediaportal / PowerScheduler. Deactivate MP client and MP TV server (tvservice), set your Windows power settings to "balanced", select default values and set your PC's power button action to "Sleep". If there is any, you should also check your remote's software / drivers. Then try to suspend the system and wake it up with the power button. Repeat the same with your remote. If everything is working, you can reactivate Mediaportal and work on your PowerScheduler configuration...

    Michael

    Thanks for the guidelines. I followed your advice pretty good. I managad to set windows in resume with remote, and can wake up by pc powerbutton. But Im unable to get any further and wake up by remote as I did with prior MP 1.2.0 versions.

    AW: PowerScheduler++ Test Version 1.2.5.0 for MP 1.2.x / 1.3 Alpha

    Hi,
    I'm quite new to PS++. I have tried the actual stable version and the 1.25 testversion. Both show a strange behavior at my system and I'm not sure if this is a configuration error or a bug:

    Behavior before PS++ installation: Whet TV is running and I trigger my system to go to standby nothing happens. First I have to stop TV and than I can go to standby.

    Behavior with PS++ (both versions): When TV is running and I trigger my system to go to standby it goes not to standby and accepts no new commands. It is totally impossible to give any commands to mediaportal. When I try to launch the taskmanager it comes not in front (MePo is not configured to stay always in front).
    So I have to power down the system ...

    Any suggestions for me? Is this a bug, should I post logfiles?

    And by the way: how do I uninstall PS++ to use the normal PS until this issue is solved?

    Thanks
    Megahorst

    megahorst ...use the MediaPortal extension installer for unistall the plugin...

    I tried the 1.2.5.0 ps++ It looks great and handles the windows settings from ps++, really nice. However it seems that a connection to mySQL (MPTVDB) is lost. (I now use the stable 1.2.1.0 ps++)

    Thanks for reporting errors and providing error log - I will have a look on it.

    Loved this plugin in combination with TV-Server :) But I really miss the functionality provided for single-seat-installation on pure clients. E.g. the feature to not shutdown the system based on traffic... nice.

    Could you provide a more sophisticated client application? Or is it just me having these kinds of dreams?

    :oops: "overcome the functional differences" - too few reading, too much posting :rolleyes:

    Thanks for your hard work!

    This refers to the different way local and remote clients are managed in PowerScheduler, not to the client functonality as such. But I will try to consider your wishes in the client redesign.

    Hey Michael,

    thanks again for your hints according increasing the check interval. I made a few test runs more and have to say that things got better, just sometimes waking ups for recordings were not working.

    Just a few minutes ago I installed 1.2.5, I recognized that check interval is gone? I am afraid I can´t use the new coming up PS++ versions anymore because of this now missing feature. Do you have implemented another solution for check-intervall-adjustments I haven´t found yet?

    When I am opening the advanced tab and try to configure manually, confirm changes with "ok", then with "apply" and afterwards close the tv-setup with "ok", next time I am opening the advanced tab of PS++ all my previous changes are "gone" (set back to default) - the box "apply recommended windows power settings..." is checked automatically again (was unchecked before closing tv-setup).

    Is this a normal behaviour?

    The check interval is is set to 15 seconds and no longer configurable in the GUI.

    You are right - "apply recommended windows power settings..." should keep its value. I will fix this.

    Is it possible to increase "somewhere else" (in the plugin itself e.g.)?

    Thanks!

    I hope after keeping the values in PS++ my htpc will fall asleep again - actually S3/S4 (when idle)
    is not working anymore since updating to newest version.
