Re: AW: Re: AW: Re: PowerScheduler++ Test Version 1.2.5.3 for MP 1.2.x / 1.3 Alpha

Hi

Since I installed and configured the plugin, the tv server does not startup anymore :-(

Is there a way to reset the PS++ configuration? I know I can deinstall it by the plugin tool, but I would like to get the Alpha running because I'm really interested in the new functions.

See attached logs.

Regards,
Daniel
Thanks for your bug report. I made a mistake in renaming the namespace for the PS++ components so they cannot be referenced any more by WebEPG. I just provided a new version 1.2.5.4 that corrects the bug.

Michael

Michael,

in the meantime I got it running somehow by deinstalling, installing a stable version and installing the alpha again.
It seems to work now!
This is a function I have waited for since years! Having Windows handle the standby. It always bugged me, because I had a second application to play music (squeezeplay) and the standby handling was always a mess.

Thank you so much.

Re: PowerScheduler++ Test Version 1.2.5.4 for MP 1.2.x / 1.3 Alpha

OK, my PC stayed asleep for a whole 6 hours last night (that's good!) with TVService running. I think what was preventing it working was either Hybrid Sleep being enabled (in Windows Power Options) or possibly Actual Multiple Monitors running. I'll do some more testing to try and determine which it is (or maybe it's both) but I just wanted to check whether there's a known problem with Hybrid Sleep.

Could you have a look in this thread https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/newcomers-forum-240/power-schedule-not-working-103838/#post824327

Apologies for posting in the wrong thread originally.

Just been checking further and found that I had the old version. Installed the latest version and checking again but one thing came to light when I looked at the Recommended power settings screen. It recommended allow away mode yet the wiki says..

•Multimedia Settings- When Sharing Media (Vista / Win7)
Should be set to Allow Computer to Sleep. Do not set to Allow Away Mode!

Is this an error ?

................................

Just re-tested

No different - but now the system hangs on resume from sleep

It definitely seems to be Allow Hybrid Sleep being enabled that's preventing my system going to standby.

I'll double-check my other system which is working but I think it's OK with it enabled on that, so it's something about this particular system. Anyway, I'll just leave Hybrid Sleep disabled for now.

No, these are two different things. The recommended setting you mention refers to the hidden Windows Power Setting "Allow Away Mode" which must(!) be enabled to allow away mode at all. This setting is not available to the Power Settings user interface and is enabled by default for AC power. Therefore there is no description for it in the wiki.
The setting mentioned in the wiki is (as said explicitely) "Multimedia Settings - When Sharing Media", which refers to the Windows behaviour when sharing media is configured. This setting is also available in the PS++ Power settings dialog and should be set to "Allow Computer to Sleep".

Re: PowerScheduler++ Test Version 1.2.5.5 for MP 1.2.x / 1.3 Alpha

Now I've disabled Hybrid Sleep and my system's going to standby properly, but it just went to standby when I was browsing in the Music menu in MP, at about 16:06:03 (in mediaportal.bak).

From the logs I cannot see why your system suspended. Can you please look in your system event log? There must be an entry at 16:06:05 with event id 42 and a text like "The system is entering sleep. Sleep Reason: ...". Please tell me the sleep reason, which gives us information why your system suspended at this time.

Yes, it says:

"The system is entering sleep.

Sleep Reason: System Idle"

You have been working on the system and the PS++ client has signalled user activity to the server just one minute before Windows decided to be idle. I really can't understand it:confused:.
I think you should contact the Microsoft support forum, because this seems to be a windows problem.

OK thanks. I'll probably just reinstall Windows then and see if that helps, which is probably what MS will end up suggesting anyway ;)
