    Re: PowerScheduler++ Test Version 1.2.5.8 for MP 1.2.x / 1.3 Alpha

    Hi, thanks for the reply. Just fired up TVServer config and there is definately already a tick against the Powerscheduler++ in the plugins menu area.. PS++ config menu item is also there when expanding the Plugins menu...?

    Edit: So I rebooted and it all seems to work ok now :) Thanks very much!

    Edit 2: Ok, after confirming it worked after the reboot, I changed the sleep timer from 3 to 30 minutes in the config, hit apply, ok'd out of TV Server config.. and it still slept after 3 minutes! Rebooted again and the 30 minutes timer is now active.

    It seems for any changes to become active, at least in my installation, I need to reboot for them to take effect. Its no hardship of course but I never noticed it documented that reboots were required?

    Thanks for the 1.2.1-compatible version, I'll put it through it's paces ;)

    Just one thing I've noticed is that if I change the Standby after time on the General tab, it doesn't get applied, whereas if I change it under Advanced - Configure Manually, it does and get's pushed to the General tab as well. I thought it used to work both ways but could be mis-remembering. It would be nice if it could be changed from the General tab though.

    You can change it from the general tab, but you have to "Apply" the change like other changes in the configuration tabs. Only the Power Settings are saved immediately when you close the dialog with "Ok". Do you think this should be changed?

    I did try Apply and just tested again. If I then go to Advanced - Configure Manually, it hasn't changed. If I just close it after clicking Apply and then re-open config, it hasn't changed either.

    It should work as described; if not, there is a bug in the configuration. There was another post saying that the setting is effective only after a reboot (I think that a tvservice restart will make it too). Maybe this is the same effect. I will check this as soon as possible.
    One question: What power settings profile (balanced, ...) do you use?

    The setting sticks if I change it under Advanced or from Windows Power Options. I'm using the Balanced profile.

    I think you have unchecked the "Apply recommended power settings automatically" option, thus no windows power setting (not even the idle timeout) is applied by PS++ (like it is in the older versions). If you check the option, the idle timeout will be applied as expected.

    It's true that is unticked and if I tick it the changes I make to Standby time on the General tab get applied to Windows. I'm not sure what the idle timeout is and I don't see a setting for that. If I do tick that box though, it greys out the Configure Manually box, which isn't what I want really as then I can't disable Away Mode or Hybrid sleep from the plugin. I don't want the Recommended settings either, as they set the Power and Sleep buttons to send the PC to sleep, and then the Power button on my remote does that and I want to use it just to bring up MP's Shutdown menu.

    It's no big deal at the end of the day if I can't change the time on the General tab, so I can leave that box unchecked and just change the settings under Configure Manually if I have to.

    I used this term for the "Sleep after" setting...

    This is the intended way of using the configuration. Otherwise (if I would apply the value from the Genaral tab in any case) some users would complain that PS++ changes their system settings... But I will make it clearer in the next version's GUI, if the value of the "Standby after" on the General tab is applied or not.

    AW: PowerScheduler++ Test Version 1.2.5.8 for MP 1.2.x / 1.3 Alpha

    Is it possible to have a sleepoption after a certain amount of time when nothing is done during TV is live? Asking as sometimes the TV get's turned off but the MP stays on - and is running through the night ... so an option like you have on the newer TV's after 4hours no keypress a dialog poping up saying shutdown in 5 Minutes if nothing happens ...

    Regards
