Help Please.
Yesterday upon switch-on, I had this issue with MP2:

When I clicked on the [REC] icon in the following Image:

Recordins_List_1.png

...it normally displays a list of the TV/Radio programs I have previously recorded.

But this time, it displayed this list instead:

Recordins_List_2.png

So now to find the program I want to watch, I have remember its exact title, and find it from this list.
So I rebooted Windows, which reloaded Windows & MP, but the issue was still there.
Next I watched a program, and after I went back to the list, the issue had corrected itself, and was OK for the rest of the day.

However, earlier today upon switch-on:
First I noticed that the clock had stopped several hours earlier, just after my last preset recording had finished,
also the screen would not respond to the remote.
So I rebooted Windows, which reloaded Windows & MP, but the list-issue of yesterday has reappeared, and it's still there now.

Any Idea's please.

Thanks for the reply.
So I guess that means you want my log files:
I'm not sure which logs you need so I've attached the latest folder.
The fault had cleared over the last 2 days, but re-occurred lastnight.

This fault is still present. So has anyone able to solve this issue?
I don't use MP2, so I have no knowledge of the screen that you are seeing. My guess is that you have too many files stored in the "Recordings" folder, and you have exceeded some threshold above which MP2 displays the list of initial letters. The idea may be to make it easier for you to select a recording by selecting the initial letter first to see only the recordings that begin with that letter.

My use of MP1 is: record, watch, delete. If you do the same, after you have watched a recording and deleted it, the number of recordings in the folder may then be less than the threshold, and so the panel reverts to what you were seeing previously. Until, that is, you make another recording.

You could try moving some of the recordings into a different folder (but not a subfolder), and see if that makes a difference.

Unfortunately, work on MP2 seems to have come to a halt, and @ge2301 (the developer responsible for the design of the MP2 skins) seems not to have visited this site for nearly two weeks.

Thanks CyberSimian for your comments, it's apprecaited.
However, I cant see why this would be a desired feature, as it makes finding programs very dificult.

But it may be an issue, as you say, caused by too many saved listed programs,
because I keep lots of programs that I may wish to see again.

Currently I have 3 HDD's with .ts program (+ their xml files) on them, and all of those get listed in this [Rec] list.

I see that the user Greenhorn7 in you ge2301 link, also has a similar issure, so it would be nice to here from ge2301 !

    Many thanks

CyberSimian please see Greenhorn7 responce to my question in his post.
Where he says he only has a few programs in his recordings-folder.
But he's using a different skin, and his recording-icon is not showing when his issue occurs.
    But this could be connected?

I keep lots of programs that I may wish to see again
Some programmes such as current affairs and sport have a time-limited relevance, so for these programmes I leave the files in the "Recordings" folder (in MP1), and employ the record, watch, delete methodology.

For other programmes such as drama that I may wish to keep for some time, I move the recordings once a week to a folder tree in MP1's "Videos" section. This folder tree is defined by me, and for drama I do indeed have 26 folders with names "A" to "Z" in which I store the recordings. Within each of those folders I have a separate folder for each drama series, plus a "@Singles" folder for single dramas (the "@" in the name makes it appear at the top of the list). This arrangement is to avoid having too many files in any single folder.

I don't know whether MP2 has a similar concept to MP1, i.e. separate "Recordings" and "Videos" folders. If it does, using the "Videos" section as described above might avoid the problem with the "Recordings" folder. But I appreciate that this is not the way that you have used MP2 so far, and you might find it difficult to adapt to a different way of working.

From the description in his post, it looks as though his problem is not the same as yours, but it will need one of the MP2 developers to investigate.

    Hi CyberSimian,
How do you move the programs from the Recordings folder, to the Video's section?
Do you do this via MP1 (if so how) or using Window Explorer?

In the proprietary PVR I used to use:
If I wanted to keep recordings, I could create folder(s) (on the fly) and then move the program to their folder(s).
So I would create folder(s) for the programs categories, eg: Music, Drama etc, or for specific series, eg: Wheeler Dealers, etc, this could all be done using the PVR's remote.

    Thanks
