So the audio dropouts have something to do with LiveTV and timeshifting IMO because the TS file is fine...

Any ideas what is causing this?

I still bet on the audio and video clock drifting. Did you test with the analog audio souce? EVR doesn't show any dropped frames as TsReader is patching the gap between audio and video stream.

Cannot test analog audio because I do not have an analog sound card...

Is it possible to do the test in any other way?
Maybe you can provide a modified MP file that disables audio...

Also, assuming that you are right tourettes with "the audio and video clock drifting", what could I do to fix this?

Only way would be to let audio and video clocks run non-syncrhonized, but at least currently I don't have enough free time to provide such. Maybe someone else can provide the modified binaries?

Most likely TsReader needs to be modified to not to patch timestamps and TsReaderPlayer to not to set the audio renderer as sync source.

But would that not cause that audio and video get completely out of sync?

The question for me really is, why does this only happen occasionaly and if it happens, it happens more or less constantly until MP is restarted...

As much as the audio and video clocks dift apart.

Sorry, no clue why restarting MP is clearing the situation.

Sorry for this question, but what are dropped frames, how can you see that?

I have 1.1.0BETA + 30-11SVN and I'm experiencing some stuttering video playback (vista/EVR/MPC-HC/FFDSHOW audio), but only when using MPC-HC subtitle decoder..

    I posted my findings here:https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/watch-edit-videos-104/stutter-after-refresh-rate-change-71311/index7.html#post550898

As a total fix for the above-mentioned problems with EVR is the change to VMR9. TSReader is not to blame. It's MediaPortal+EVR that sucks. Don't need DXVA, have CoreAVC with CUDA for HD and all troubles are gone.

I didn't see anywhere what OS you are using. If it is XP then using VMR9 is the correct way to go (EVR is not supported by the team under XP). If you are using Windows 7 or Vista, then without using the EVR you are getting tearing as VMR9 would require exclusive directx mode to be used and we dont support such under Vista / Windows 7.

Windows7, but EVR is unusable after last few of SVNs. Heavy dropping of frames and finally freezing of MP happens with DXVA with every single codec available, this is just in MediaPortal. If I rebuilt the same graph as MP builds in GraphStudio and start it from there and it doesn't give a single issue with any source I throw at it. I'm in the process to checkout the whole damn thing from SVN and find what's going on there. Maybe I'll be lucky and can fix something by myself. Maybe not. We'll see.
Under VMR9 there's no DXVA support, thank god for CoreAVC with CUDA. Will try out now if the ION330 HTPC is able to do 1080i with coreAVC CUDA under VMR9 at reasonable FPS...

For majority it works well, so it would be indeed good if you could dig a bit deeper and try to find the cause for the issues you are experiencing. It would help other people who are seeing the same issues (team's devs and testers haven't reported such issue).

But with VMR9 you are having tearing, that is a fact. Something that cannot be fixed with any other means than creating a personal version of MP code base that enabled DirectX exclusive mode use for the Windows 7. So it would be better to figure out the issues around the EVR.
