don't know anything about this flickering... I am not on the dark side... :p

but this thread should only be used for the dropped frame issues.

did some tests with the Win7 MS Codecs. In SD LiveTV I have less Raster and Sync offset (the yellow line is almost at the bottom line and the green one is near the red one). Is this better or is it equal to the lines moved up? (the distance between the green and the yellow is the same)

    disaster123:
can't find such entries... which codec and what material?

Re: AW: Problems with dropping frames with EVR

On my system with dshowhelper_V7 i get very often dropped frames and last time MP was crashing - also a lot of entries have "last sleep time 0.00 ms." - which produces a lot of overhead for the CPU.
As the "last sleep time" message only comes when a frame is dropped, this is a good thing when 0 ms are listed. It means a late frame was dropped without adding any artificial delay - exactly as it should be: late, throw it away.

Anyway we'll test various DLLs in another thread later and see what works best for the majority of people who test it.

I think this idea is really great / good. Perhaps create this thread as a poll so seeing results is really easy - only the poll would be really long :)

    Somethink like:
    low end system - dllv1 - Win 7:
    high end system - dllv1 - Win 7:

    low end system - dllv1 - Vista:
    high end system - dllv1 - Vista:

    ...

i had the same idea about the poll. but the one in my head would be 10+ items. not really the best idea...

    @disaster:
when you have the entries in your log, which codec is used? what is the input?

But the poll easier to view even with 10 or 20 entries than users posting their results in text.

Simply dropped frames entries - but perhaps it was accidentally - i haven't tested it much - sorry - will do so when the thread is online.

i also will test those dll's. Can you explain in short what changes in which dll are made? (I would like to learn out of this :) )
