    Hi THDBased,

I can't figure out why there is stuttering above 10000. The problem IMO is in the Live555 library that the TVserver filters use to repackage the video stream. Hunting that down would probably take a professional at least a week, as the problem is not obvious. I'm not sure if its really worth the effort, as analog is increasingly giving way to digital. That is actually why I am debating whether its even worth adding the ability for quality control to MP1.

The TVE3 SVN from yesterday should have the fix included.

Do not forget that there are many users who has to use a STB - no matter what. There are a numerous reasons for this- I have IPTV which is encrypted, but not using a smart card. Hence I, and many others, are doomed to use analogue cards or switch provider. For me this is a economical loss.

    Quality control is a must.

Here, down south, we will also use analogue for a few more years. I have read reports that we will have digital in time for 2010 world cup, but I don't think analogue will die anytime soon here.

Same in Australia - quality control is critical. Thanks for making the change in the SVN. Any chance we could bump it again to 8000/10000???

    same in the USA :)

Our options are either cable or satellite, both of which use STBs to get signal to the TV. No other way around it. The only digital channels we can access are a few OTA channels.

    Any updates on this?
Was the change ever introduced in SVN and if so, anyone knows in which SVN?
Im using TV3 to capture the Foxtel analogue signal from my STB and the quality is pretty bad compared to what I can get in WinTV200 or any other capture programs such as VLC.
I've tried changing the quiality in GRpahEdit but it doesn't seem to affect MP...

Hi not4us - the change is definitely in the SVN (and has been for some time) - not sure of first SVN date.

Diehard2 - to quote Oliver; 'please sir, can I have some more?'! The improvement in quality since you bumped it up is noticeable (thank you!) - any chance you could bump it higher again??? I'd be happy to test different builds for stability if that would help.

I spose I could but it might be better if an option was included in tv server to change this. And I don't mean an option on the tv server setup form, rather have tvserver use the current defaults unless it finds c:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\HauppaugeBitrates.txt which would contain the custom bitrates for those of us who want to experiment. I just don't like the idea of propagating disparate dll files But either way could work.

What do you rekon Diehard? I could make a patch.

I did the patch and it seems to work fine here.
I will attach TvCardAnalog.cs and HauppaugeBitRates.txt for diehard in the hope he can include this in the SVN.:D

Basically now it looks for c:\HauppaugeBitRates.txt, if found it will load found values from there. If not will go on with defaults.

I found also that the function _haupPauge.GetVideoBitRate(out min, out max, out vbr); is giving out everytime "-1","-1","false" for me.

This is how the log looks like after the patch:

    Code:
    [LEFT]2007-12-29 15.04.50.411324 [11]: c:\HauppaugeBitRates.txt found, reading values.
    2007-12-29 15.04.50.412324 [11]: Hauppage Video Min = 8000
    2007-12-29 15.04.50.412324 [11]: Hauppage Video Max = 8000
    2007-12-29 15.04.50.413324 [11]: Hauppage Video VBR = False
    2007-12-29 15.04.50.413324 [11]: Hauppage Video Audio = 128
2007-12-29 15.04.50.414324 [11]: Hauppauge set video parameters - Max kbps: 8000, Min kbps: 8000, VBR False
2007-12-29 15.04.50.419324 [11]: Hauppauge Quality Control Initializing No DX Error
    2007-12-29 15.04.50.420324 [11]: Hauppauge get video parameters - Max kbps: -1, Min kbps: -1, VBR False[/LEFT]
