Could You, please, state what codecs You have installed and what settings are You using.
I'll try to do fresh install of WinXP and install only codecs You state on reply.

i use

• MPV/MPA in MediaPortal for Video/Audio
• coreavc for h.264
• latest version of divx
• latest build of xvid
• latest version of quicktime alternative
• latest build of ffdshow BUT only enabled decoding of MJPEG files!!!!

no special settings done. everything is running on the defaults

not 100% up to date anymore. i will have to change that. still contains some usefool informations.
