Aero is enabled, and the CoreAVC codec is the only one I've found that correctly enables the ION's Cuda acceleration for HD, so it was a good investment for my setup. It won't work for everyone, you know how these things are! But that doesn't concern standard TV, I'm using MPC-MPEG2 codec for that, which works perfectly with VMR9 but not EVR.

So unfortunately I still have the weird skin graphical problem. The same issue has happened this afternoon using Blue3 Wide and selecting a radio station - attached a screenshot for your delectation.....

    Thanks again for your help,
    Si

VMR9 on Vista/Win7 is not supported. It has been said many times.

I realize that you are having problems with EVR but switching to VMR9 is not the solution. No one is going to try to make VMR9 work on Vista/Win7 because it will never be possible to work properly.

I have an ION platform like ýou and use with success microsoft codec (for both mpeg2 and h264). Which resolution do you output to? Unless is a fullhd one should be no problem.

You also do not necessarily need CUDA, purevideo should be sufficient.

As above, VMR9 and Vista/Win7 is not supported. Seems as EVR is working I am marking this as no bug.

There are plenty of people around using ION based setups with EVR so must be good setups for this.

The TV res is full 1080p. Guess I'll have to revisit my codecs to suit EVR then. I had my client build totally nailed before this error popped up too. Damn. Back to the drawing board.

    Thanks for all your replies.

    Cheers

    Hallo everyone.

I have also seen this, its only the tv menu that disapears. A had the streamed MP skin when this happend to me. It happened after I woke my computer up after suspend, but only if it had been woken up by the WebEPG-plugin. I shall try to explain what I mean by explaining step by step.
I have MP and tv-server on the same mackine.

    1. Start up everything, both mP and tv-server.
    2. Let the power scheduler plugin put the machine into suspend.
    3. Let the WebEPG-plugin wake the machine and get EPG.
    4. Let it go to suspend again, without doing anything.
    5. Wake it up from suspend.
    6. Go to tv menu, now it should be gone.

Sorry that I dont have any logs, but I shall try to reproduce this tomorrow and get logs.
Just wanne explain a possible way to reproduce this.
One more thing that I have is that I have checked "workaround for MP freezing after resume" or something like that in MP-config general.

How do I take a screenshot when I have MP in fullscreen?

AW: RC3 TV Menu losing graphics

First up, thanks to everyone for a great release - RC3 is thus far proving extremely good, very stable and except for my following issue, bug free and very smooth!

Secondly, since I did a clean install of RC3 (on 2 clients, both exactly the same hardware), everytime I select TV from the home menu, then highlight the mini TV window and press ENTER to turn the TV on, the screen loses all graphics and sometimes formatting, leaving only a black background, text, and the mini TV screen playing live TV (see screenshot). Going back to the home menu, then back into the TV menu fixes the issue instantly, but it's not ideal. I also sometimes see a similar thing happen to the OSD when live TV is playing in full screen - the box outline and all other graphics disappear, leaving only the text. I can't recreate this issue though.

Wondering if it was a skin problem, I've tried 2 different skins and the same thing happens with both. I've also tried this with a 32" HD TV with HMDI connection and an old 26" TV with VGA connection, both with loads of different resolutions just to test it, same thing happens everytime.

I can recreate the problem every time and I've attached logs as this happened (excellent work on the log collection function by the way - very simple indeed!), as well as a screenshot of the TV menu. I didn't have this issue in RC1, and I never tested RC2. Plugins do not have an effect on this either - it happens with the most basic MP installation, and with loads of plugins loaded.

Has anyone else had the same issue? Any advice or suggestions gratefully accepted.

    Cheers
    Si

I have also had this "problem" a couple of times. I am new user and RC3 is my first install on this mediacenter pc.
