Re-scan required in London (Crystal Palace) - BBC1 & BBC2 lost. (2 Viewers)

Hi,

I woke this morning to no BBC service on MP through DVB-T. I remembered something about a re-tune today so did this on all cards.

1tp comes up as "No Signal" at the moment and on scanning, it did not pick up on any re-located BBC channels.

My Sony TV re-scanned correctly and confirmed that BBC was in fact broadcasting... pulled the kids back out of the bunker...

I deleted all channels then re-scanned all cards. BBC services were then partially found on 4tp, however no BBC 1 & 2 on MP (also no BBC News and several otthers).

Logs show nothing about scanning issues.

Does anyone else in London have the same issue with MP today/have any ieas how to fix?

Try scanning on 'all regions'.

The tuning details will be fixed in 1.2.3, which will be released soon. Which transmitter are you using?

Hi,

Crystal Palace transmitter. I can see the tower from the end of my road.

I just re-installed but obviously that did not work (always worth a try).

Trying a re-scan on "All regions".

That seems to have worked. Was like the old scan when I first installed MP 6 years ago.... Long!

The attached file should work - needs to go in TuningParameters\dvbt in the TV server folder in Program Data.

I just put the new XML file in place and tried a re-scan on a card (using UK, Crystal Palace) that was not yet scanned (I have 3 dual tuners).

Hmm, still no signal on 1tp. Is that normal?

It looks like that is working, scaning now.

64 TV Channels on the old Crystal Palace xml file
74 TV Channels on All regions
72 TV Channels on Crystal Palace new xml file

Probably 2 different regions for one channel in the all regions scan?

3tp, 4tp, 7tp, 9tp & 11tp come up no signal in this version.
[edit] This seems random so maybe my setup is causing variations. Maybe the signal is not a strong an TV being on Digital internal may be causing issues. I don't usually do this as it is MP all the way!
[edit] Scrub that, same transponders coming up as NS.

I've got the exact same problem (Crystal Palace too). I'm at work at the moment so can't take another look but should I just go with an All Regions scan or use the XML file elliottmc kindly supplied? Out of interest, what's the reason for the failure?

Hi Vic,

All freeview has a switch around today (the first of 2) and my guess is that MP does not automatically update the info on where channels can be found for each region.

I seem to be getting a full quota of stations now (not completely tested if they work because I am still scanning) but with the new XML file, I get some transponders coming up as no singal.

One thing I noticed on the WinterHill switchover was low power for the first 24hrs, so any weak signal may fail to tune, thought I would let you know, remember pc cards are not as good at reception as a freeview stb even now.

See current power output is low
