I can't say whether it is or isn't somehow caused by the same bug, but I can say that I have seen it happen to me without the "record each episode only once" option flagged, FWIW.

As I understand it, this is the issue
0002757: Using time based schedules and MySQL logs errors on server while applying program states - MediaPortal Bugtracker
and it is fixed for RC2.
I guess we will have to wait and see.
Perhaps if the original poster could report the precise steps taken to set the schedule (type of schedule, was the first program actually on when the schedule was set) then I will be able to reproduce.

Unless I was somehow switched to MySql with the installation of RC1 without my knowledge, I do not believe this issue is limited to it.
You might have to wait a bit for that since thread starters last activity was one minute after reporting this bug. I think it is safe to say that it is the same bug.

I've just tested svn 25213 which includes the fix for this issue.
I can confirm that if I create any of the recordings with which I reported having problems with here, the scheduled recordings are properly reflected in the TV Guide.
Any (problematic) schedules that were created with RC 1 are not marked in the TV Guide, they must be new schedules.

That will likely change after the next EPG import.
