the new moving pictures supports mediainfo and logos. So any information is available and published to the skin. It is up to the skin designer to implement them.
I included a screenshot to show what aMPed has included. At the bottom you can see the different mediainfo. What skin are you using?
You can also configure a category for HD or SD movies.

I have been using it For 16 years now (from V1.1.1) and it has worked flawlessly.
I only use TV Series and Moving...
maybe setting loglevel to debug might pinpoint the difference between normal and stuck?
Preferable with as much disabled as possible
also try to see if anything is happening during stuck for the mediaportal process(resource monitor, disk activity, cpu usage, anything)
maybe other programs competing for resouces?
