I am very interested as I like dark, shiny/glossy surfaces in the skins very much....
Core is a good example for this, but still miles away to be finished.
I would be very glad if the development of ReVision takes this way in future.

Well, some months ago we launched the idea of having several versions of Replicant around. I don't want to reinvent the wheel, and so I don't intend to make a complete distribution.
But maybe releasing zip-files with mods to the default version.
That way we could have zips for:
That way, everyone could make a skin to his own liking. The way I proceed now for myself is: whenever a new ReVision comes out, I copy it to my custom directory (skin/darkvision) and then unzip my mods into it.
To illustrate, here is a zip-file with alternative BasicHome (far from perfect but a work in progress) and two new images you need (from Core skin). If now the author of Replicant Vista creates a "Replicant Vista Style.zip" we have started something very nice...

These are all great, and great versions of the same ideas.....smells like collaboration in here ;P
Keep it up, the modular skin idea is one I've had since first opening a skin to mod it, it's worse than doing a Winamp skin lol!
Dropdown menus with skin background, icon, color, and font settings sort of like how Trillian attempted to do it would be nice. Or even a simple universal skin config utility much like the one found in the Microscopic 2 skin for Winamp that all skinners could harness. Then people could download the different packages, mix and match as above suggested, and you'd find the screenshot area flooded with mod shots and a renewed sense of interest in the skins for MP I think. Of course, keeping all that organized in an easy to find manner in the current skin area is a no go IMO and the Skin site is dead, and broken now on my FF2.0 The French skin site is nice, but also not updated too often, more skinners would most definitely equal more interest.

I dont remember if I posted these two mods before, but here goes.
Its a mod I did some months ago, when the skin still was called Replicant.
Basically just a basichome mod with larger icons, made for my father wich needs glasses for most menus
And a meepo mod I also made for him, with full animations.
Let me know if you guys want this, and I'll clean it up and post the required files here. (not the meepo icons though, dont have permission for those, yet)
