ok, heres a really rough version of what i was speaking of... I dont think it needs to have that much metadata, but its something to work with...

The problem i have is that i'm editing the myvideoTitle.xml, this of course shows these items everywhere.

Is there a way to kind of create my own view? So it appears in the Layout, like MetaList or something?

This is an exelent idea, but, will this also work in shares view? If it does I will have a look at this aswell.
(I never use the database unless I have too)

Check out the posts above, and you'll see how i used the metadata, mirk explained it.
I edited the myvideotitle.xml file to include these things. But first i had to create a new common.window.xml file to include and edit the size of the list control under another xml file. As you can see, i still have the durations on the far right, i'd need to get rid of those.

But what i really need to do is get this into its own view, so that we could SWITCH to it, otherwise everything shows up under thumb view as well, and its just chaotic.

Sorry DarkWader, this can't be done under shares view, because its using the database information.

I too never used the database views in XBMC, until they got new cool views like this. This is the advantage of having everything in the database, its just too bad the database is kinda awkward (adding/removing movies).

I dont think its possible, i have tryed this before in my SpinSafe skin with conditional vissibility, but becource all the views has the same control ID this does not work.

But as you can see in the screen downbelow i have solved it another way.

ahh, i see what you did, you just worked around the fact that everything shows everything.......

hmm.. maybe i'll invoke the GPL and take a look at your skins mirk.
I'd like to find some room for Plot in there for sure..

Ok. Inspired by Mirk's top nav on his spinsafe skin, I came home from work and got hacking.

He'res what I came up with. It works great so far, i just need to create the hooks to allow you to navigate to the top bar, and between the buttons. I love the view though.

The only problem is that it basically destroys any other view. I'll post what I created later when i get the navigation working, but beware, if you want this view, you're giving up every other view, because of the way MP is architectured.

If anyone can prove me wrong, PLEASE tell me, and i'll create this a little different. But I haven't had much to go on.

Anyways, let me know how you guys like it.

I have made a change in the MyLyrics plugin so the information for the next played song wont be visible in wide or editor mode when using the ReVision skin.

Interesting idea, I prefer your first version of the layout, the latest screenshots change the ReVision layout a little too much. However if the devs would add a next/previous button to the IMDB screen (like Meedio) has I think that would be a huge improvement to the way we navigate around movies in MediaPortal. IMDB'ing one each movie is a bit of a pain.

yah, one of the things i had a problem with was that it strayed from the skin a bit. But its hard to get all that data in there with the monster sidebar menu...

Either way, its kind of just an experiment, cause the whole thing doesn't work real well, since MP doesn't support alternate views.

I'd really like to see something like though. Theres no point in having all that meta data if we can't use it smartly.

IMHO it detracts from this skin design too much. Spinsafe already does something similar so if users want the type of layout then they can use that.
