I'd love to see a way to read the news as well. Currently I configured the RSS-newsfunction in MP but I'm not quite content with that, because the actual news message is displayed in a small window. Anyway, you (dir) might find that useful until someone develops a new RSS-newsplugin.

I am actually working on such a plugin. Development is progressing slowly because i'm very busy lately but it is still progressing

It currently supports multiple tickers and i am now working on some screens for actually reading the news items. When the reading news part does something i will post a beta version.

Unfortunately the plugin crashes the latest (final 1.0) version of Mediaportal!

Looks like you are in the wrong place...

I guess you haven't done a clean install too.
The plugin works fine for me

Works fine here for me too on three different machines all running MP 1.0

I've done a complete, clean install. It hasn't crashed on me anymore after disabling RSS Ticker...

However, if it works for you guys it has to be something else. Thanks again.

I can't get the RSSTicker to work with Blue3Wide, which is the skin my family prefers over Streamed MP (where RSSTicker does work). I haven't understood how to edit the skin files manually to make the RSSTicker to work. Please help!

I use blue3wide too. Just copy the attached text and then paste in your BasicHome.xml file, at the end, just before:

Thank you gusangora! It works in Basic Home now. Do you know how can I make it work in the "normal Home" screen as well?

@ providers: you can increase scroll speed in settings from within Mediaportal that deal with the screen (not in MP Config).
