Hi,
is there a setting in MP that allows me to run a twin tuner dvb-s2 card (with both tuners!) by using only one cable? I read that this is possible in some linux boxes (vu+)...

Thanks and regards

I don't know about MP, but your question is more hardware related. Either you use Unicable / SCR (same thing), but your TV-card or STB must support it, the standard does support 8 channels, but most LNBs only have 4 channel output and "one or two" legacy LNB ports.

Another option is to use a stacker / destacker but it is expencive and is limited to cable length, i think there are two versions, 30meters or 60meters. So becaus of the price, unicable would be a better choise as you get four individual channels from the the LNB. You can then use a four-way splitter for satellite signals with DC pass, and give the DVB-S2 card two cables, and then have the option to give one or two cable to a STB, depending on what STB you have (must support unicable). And then have two smartcards, one for the computer, "CA-module and smartcard" for a CI-slot, or use a smartcard reader with USB and softcam instead. And use the other smartcard for the STB. That way if computer breaks down you use the STB with smartcard to watch stuff (if you have two cards) or move the smartcard from the computer to the STB. Or if you have someone else in the house that just wants to watch regular programing with a standard STB.

I currently have two Quatros running, one connect, one duo using OTA antennae, mostly UHF fringe area, mostly cat5 local network. Hauppauge card retired long ago. I have also retired very early SD units, the Quatros seem to work much better than the older units. Go to SD's support website and download and install the windows...

Actually I solved this myself. I did have the correct driver (it was the only one which would work). But on the drivers download page, there was an additional item called "TBS6281se V2 Change Mode Tool". There was zero documentation to accompany this. I downloaded it and ran it. It is a tool to detect the current run state of both...

Brief update... Hauppauge support responded quickly, stating that the "driver for all of our product confirm to the BDA format". Not sure what that means, but to test that, I downloaded a copy of Capture4Me, and indeed, it switches LNBs without any issues with minimal configuration (just set DiSEqC to 1.x A/B/C/D and select the...

4.5 is really old. I'm not sure 4.5.5 even is a version that actually existed. You should be able to install .NET Framework 4.8.0 on Windows 7 SP1
