You said, you only get H/A when using VMR9, have you tried to enable EVR (usually coming with vista or NET Framework 3.0) by copying dxva2.dll, evr.dll and evrpro.dll in the system32 folder (you gotta register it manually)?
The picture itself is better, in terms of its colour etc. (EVR is a prerequisite for dxva2)

irm

I have bad experience using EVR under XP.
I have installed Frameworks 3.5 SP1 and many HD videos have ugly Audio/video desynchronization...
Are you sure it is not necesary to install Frameworks 3.0+?
EVR start to work by simple registering only dxva2.dll, evr.dll and evrpro.dll ?

I have noticed MKV files running sometimes asynchronously, but I never associated that with EVR. I had always thought that is linked to the audio filter. In former days I used VMR9 and was able to eliminate that with using AC3 filter etc.

You actually need both, NET3.0 and copying those 3 files to the system32 folder, and register them. (I was told that NET3.0 is enough, but after its installation none of these files appeared in the system32 folder)

OK, i understand now. Well i installed FrameWorks 3.5 SP1 one week ago, and there was no need to manual register any files...

    @hoborg

    Have you tried Catalyst 8.10?

I haven't got any bluescreen with that one, unlike for drivers after 8.5.

But I have no idea whether dxva is broken with 8.10 cuz neither 8.5 nor 8.10 does work for me with h/a.

    regards...

    Hoborg,

:D:Dso much for this pack, it really works fine, even with my old configuration and my old nvidia card! I can now watch HD mkv movies fine!

Just one thing: in the configuration for DVD you wrote to put Cyberlink DVD navigator, and it doen't work (DVD don't play and if DVD ripped on the HD work, it is not possible to change language and sub titles. So that I changed the option and put DVD navigator (the one includes with MP). Everything is fine now.

There are 2 kinds of files that I cannot read: flv (used for podcasts) and dvr-ms (I cannot read anymore my registred TV). HOw is it possible to solve that?

    Thanks again,

Just to know, what GPU are you using?
I have the Gigabyte MA78GM-S2H which has 3200HD intergrated graphics- I have it set to auto memory in BIOS which seems to take 256MB from my 2GB.

I guess its not possible to get MP to use windowed mode, I mean not in fullscreen mode. I remember reading something where someone stated that he only gets H/A in windowed mode with MP as well.

I am not sure that windowed mode renderer actually requires it to be in a window as in that mode in MPC-HC I can go to full screen and DXVA is still working? I haven't tried EVR /Net 3.0 yet but may do so if I don't have any luck with this.
