I know saf isn`t the problem my question is can i install saf without installing the svn build?

Sorry, what you want to do is just download the MPC-HC audio/video decoder and manually register the files. Put them in a folder, go to cmd prompt, change to that folder and type regsvr32 filename. Do that for all the files you want to register. Enjoy!

Not sure how far we go with this, just so we are all straight about your issue, you cannot chose CoreAVC under MP config\video player settings, or you can and it just does not use, are these files you are trying to play definitely h.264\x.264\AVC1 and not just avi files (DX50 normally) in mkv container, because if they are the CoreAVC does not play them, and they will default to MPC codec.

definitely i can chose coreavc under configuration , but if i play a movie mkv mediaportal use another filter (ffdshow). But if i try to use corevc under grtaphedit i can play the same file without problem...

I have decrypted the DVD to my harddisk. Is there any other tool like anydvd to to that without riping the dvd to harddisk?

Ok trying to install the latest SAF, but it is not picking up the "CLVsd.ax" that I have put on C:\

am I missing something, I have tried the "CLVsd.ax" from 8 ultra, 9 ultra, and 9 trial. No luck during install it says that it is outdated or not installed on the PreCheck screen of SAF.

Any suggestions?

make sure you extracted/renamed the proper file, then try again.

Ok, I did all that. The first and second link you provide all get you to sourceforge and guess what, the hosted version says it's from nov 29th, 2008. That's not helpful.

I guess what I'm asking is where do they develop mpc-hc? Do they have a forum? and if so, where do the files originate, so I don't have to download them from second hand sources?

Well we did not need to extract as we had PDVD9 installed on two different computers hear in the office, all we had to do is copy the file from the filters folder in "C:\Program Files (x86)\CyberLink\PowerDVD9\VideoFilter" we also had install disc's for PDVD 6,7,8, and 9, file is located on them as well.

But for the heck of it we went ahead and downloaded a fresh copy of the trial from Cyberlink's site, we then used WinRAR to extract the "_F2F3095E12A9489A9995A7CDB75415AA" file from data1.cab, renamed it and same results, SAF 3.44 does not find it during the install "TEST".

Well we just went ahead with the installation anyways, everything seems to be working, PDVD9 showed up in the Video configuration of MediaPortal and we assigned it as for the SAF instructions.

This thread is way to big, i am now trying to find the explanation of why I can't or how i can have PDVD9 back on the system so i can play my BR disc's. If you have a solution please let me know, i keep searching otherwise.

* MPC-HC filters updated to v.1.2.1010.0 (DXVA on IntelG45!)
* "Software detection" updated, Catalyst info updated

As promised here is my graphs for Cyberlink H.264 codecs when used with the TV-player.

Sorry it took so long but had to do a rollback to my 1.0 installation and I was away for a long-weekend.

My provider has one channel that needs a different audio codec so there are two graphs. National Geographic uses Cyberlink h.264 from PDVD9 in combination with Nvidia Audio Codec that comes with Purevideo.



The rest of my channels, here represented with TVNorge uses Cyberlink h.264 from PDVD9 in comnination with the Monogram AAC decoded that comes with MP.
