can you look at this post ?
https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...saf-filter-problem-tvgemist-55451/#post397380
seems like saf has broken dmo codec ?

UPDATE:

If you do a little tweak of "197585.public.X_Factor_s2_a10.MiMedia_WM_1500K_V9.wmv" file (it is simple text file), you can play your video directly from MP without any plugins: (even DXVA is possible :) )

SAF v.3.46 out

* MPC-HC filters updated to v.1.2.1024.0

can you explain this? what is the tweak of that file?? and where can i find that file?

hope you can help, i would love to see "tv gemist" to work..

Hi.
You give me link to: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...saf-filter-problem-tvgemist-55451/#post397297

You will find a link to "http://av.rtl.nl/web/components/show...M_1500K_V9.wmv" there.
This file is not a video file - if you open it in notepad, you will see inside:

Code:
[B][Reference]
Ref1=http://av.rtl.nl/web/components/shows/xfactor/197575/197585.public.X_Factor_s2_a10.MiMedia_WM_1500K_V9.wmv?MSWMExt=.asf
Ref2=http://217.118.160.40:80/web/components/shows/xfactor/197575/197585.public.X_Factor_s2_a10.MiMedia_WM_1500K_V9.wmv?MSWMExt=.asf[/B]

Modify the file to:

Code:
[B]http://av.rtl.nl/web/components/shows/xfactor/197575/197585.public.X_Factor_s2_a10.MiMedia_WM_1500K_V9.wmv?MSWMExt=.asf[/B]

and save it.
Now open it inside MP, will be working now.

Or just download modified file from here: View attachment 197585.public.X_Factor_s2_a10.MiMedia_WM_1500K_V9.zip

EDIT:
I just install that tv gemist plugin and try it - and it is working fine here.
It is based on WMV and you need to install latest Windows Media player to play this streams.
By other words, this have nothing to do with SAF.

    Id like to say a BIG THANKYOU for writing this.

    Ive had lots of grief with different codec packs-- i could not get some videos to play(divx5) without bad artifacting in MP.
    I read somewhere that it could be a codec conflict, so i ran filmerit ,its a program that fixes these issues, which somehow nuked my registry and my xp :(

    So after a complete XP reinstall, installing MP and all the mp support files and different codec packs(and changing LOTS of settings), it was !:00am , I had wasted 4-5 hours. and I still had a mp that still wouldn't play some files.

    Then I uninstalled the codec packs and ran SAF and MP now plays everything that ive thrown at it( worked 1st go, no issues).

    very good work -thanks

    I wish I found SAF earlier! I spent about a month messing with different codecs until I stumbled upon this thread. My only modification is having to use AC3filter for spdif audio. If MPA did DTS audio over spdif without skipping I'd be in heaven! :) Thanks alot Hoborg! If you're ever vacationing in the USA stop by my house for a beer and brat. :)

    I have the same problem with DTS and have to use ac3filter also.
    I even tried a fresh install with only media portal and saf on the computer and got the same problem.
    Maybe someone else got around this?

    I tried everything, it's definately MPA, no way to fix it except to not use it. :(

    Yeah, and with the new version of media portal and saf I cannot let the mpa codec registered. I have to unregister and then use ac3filter. If I leave both registered and select the ac3 filter in MP configuration it will use mpa the same way.
    Having to unregister mpa cause problem with sound on some old files. :/
    Maybe we should post on mpc-hc foruns.

    BTW I couldnt find ""_11FC4976591C4BABBD9A48AFC27824BD" in the data1.cab . Has Powerdvd updated it?
    I installed the powerdvd trial (on a different pc to my htpc) and found the CLVsd.ax file in its dir. SAF said it was the wrong version but it seems to be working.

    Keep up the good work.

    That's right, no ""_11FC4976591C4BABBD9A48AFC27824BD" in data1.cab from the Trial version downloaded today (CyberLink.1501a(DVDTrial)_DVD081031-03).

    I think the actual file we need to extract is: _2AFBFAA7E01647E8BF1B15D5BFACE6D5 , please can anyone confirm it?
