My problem is described at another topic here. Some say that, problem is sound related and installing AC3Filter solves it

I installed AC3Filter but it didn't solve my problem. I didn't think that would solve it really though.

Tried some old MPC-HC, but I get BSOD when opening avi file.

I've run out of options right now. I think I'll just stick to software decoding and disable DXVA until i get an external graphics card.

Sorry, I'm trying to track down where your problem started but can't find it. Did you post a sample of the video file having this problem? dxva is really picky. Have you tried reencoding the video sample with xvid4psp? This will fix dxva problems. It has worked 100% for me with every video file I get that's poorly encoded. Thanks.

its not flash, its a avi file. well according to MP i have maybe 3 season with this codec, any software you can tell me to get a snip of the file?

There can be flash video codec in AVI.
Use MKVmerge to convert avi to mkv and split it to small pieces.

VP70 is not supported by MPC-HC so no support in SAF too.
You can try to install ON2 VP7 video codec.

Strange thing is, when i put video file in mkv with mkvtoolnix, there is no problem. It's strange, because i've checked "Avi support" in Haali setup, so AVI and MKV files are supposed to use the same decoders i think.

In theory, your AVI can be somehow damaged/not make correctly/nonstandart, and MKVmerge fix it.
I converted all my videos in to MKV, it is realy worth of it.

BTW - didn't you say it is HD video? You have HD (H.264) video in AVI???

Few years ago when h.264 was introduced, there was some experiments to put h.264 video inside AVI.
It was before MKV was created.

So if you have h.264 video inside AVI, this is definitly wrong

Hmm, maybe that is the problem. I'll better check other HD movies, and see if there is problem with them.

i dont want to install anything more than SAF, want to keep it clean, is it worth converting to another format

No need to worry.MKV merge is only small utility, no codecs etc. You can use it on different computer if you don't wan to intall it on HTPC.
It is multiplatform, so you can use it no Mac, Linux, etc. too.
Lots of AVI are made incorectly, with messy header, nonstandart features, etc.
Converting to MKV simply correct such bugs and "standatrise" video files.

I'm using SAF 3.47 (+ subtitle patch), SPDIF (optical) out, MPC Audio codec, set SPDIF out in Videos and DVD. And I'm getting AC3 and DTS passthrough without problems. I also got that with previous versions of SAF.

My AV receiver (Marantz SR5200) recognises the DTS signal (shows "DTS" and all the active channels in the display), even setting "Auto" or DTS input on the receiver. DTS tracks sound pretty well (no lags, no framedropping).

I can't understand why some people claims that MPC Audio Codec doesn't manage DTS signals. Maybe is a hardware related problem?

Nice to hear that.
I bet it is problem of soundcard drivers.
