See the log attached: I put the DVD on the tray, and then, when playing, I clicked on the "L" key of my computer to try to change the subtitles. I pressed this key twice and then stopped everything.

Is this thread relevant re the DVD navigator problem?

Hi!

I installed this package, right as is described in the first post. (started installing HTPC from zero, with XP)

My problem is that subtitles are not working inside MP, but from WMP it is ok.

If I check the graph during MP play, there is no subtitle filter.

If I play from WMP11, DirectVobsub starting, and the green arrow shows up.

One additional note: I have normal CRT TV, and selected HD ready resolution during install.
Where can I modify this setting to PAL resolution?

Hello.
Your video needs to be in MKV format and subtitles must be inside MKV to be working with SAF. That is the rule.
You can convert your AVI's to MKV (or add subtitles inside MKV) by MKVmerge (it takes just few clicks)...

The "TV support" is just for hi-res TV's - it is only about better looking subtitles.

I recently bought a shuttle sn78sh7, with the new nvidia gforce 8200 chipset. I have tryed to register the MPC-HC filters manually and playing a x264 (mkv) movie with MP, the CPU is 0%-7% but the video isn't smooth... Playing the same movie on the MPC-HC the video plays very well with and incredible 0%-5% CPU usage!!.

With your filter package all plays like a charm (4%-10% CPU), thank you!! Its is possible to update your filter package with the new MPC-HC filters?

But ok, I know that mkv is a more superior container than avi, but unfortunately I have to many movies in avi format...

You should mention this rule in your first post.

"Internal subtitles can work with the MPC Video decoder in DXVA mode, but the rules are even more restrictive :

* Windows XP users, select VMR9 renderless
* Vista users, select EVR custom renderer
* In "Options / Playback", tick the checkbox "Auto-load subtitles"

This is not working, because MP cannot fulfill these rules?

Did you set Haali to handle AVI files when you installed? If not maybe you could try and reinstall it with AVI selected? Alternatively you could use a batch extension changer such as this.

Re: MPC-HC it also gives me DXVA in VMR9 windowed mode and Overlay.

New MPC-HC filters? MPC-HC decoder in SAF is latest standalone beta available (SVN845)...

MP is working absolutely different eay than MPC-HC, so subtitles + DXVA is not possible (now).
But i am not ME developer...

Yes I did. No change.

So you mean I only need to change the extension? This way subtitles won't be merged with video and audio data in the mkv file.

Sorry, I'm not sure about that as I don't use subtitles- I think Hoborg mentioned a prog you can use that will convert to mkv (in my case I only had to convert .mov to .mkv so subtitles weren't an issue).

Nonsence - simply change avi to mkv didn't change anything.
