hoborg: Thanks i understand... i can then report that there is an issue regarding : Passthrough DTS over SPDIF if movies is MKV and 720p or 1080p.. some of them, not all..

Have you tried using AC3Filter as the audio codec?

Weee my man, the AC3Filter works. i have set it to: Passthrough AC3 and DTS over SPDIF

Works now on all the movies that was stuttering, i have to play whit it and see it it works, okay for other movies, mkv, xvid, dvd and so on :)

    Thanks M8 :)

No problem, AC3filter is definitely better for multi channel audio.

    Greetings from Chile!

What codecs are you using (in media portal configuration)?

8.11 is out but don't install it as it is getting bad feedback.. 8.8 or 8.10 are the most stable Catalyst.

    Sorry is 8.11 out now!

    Well i have this config:

    46" LCD SONY
    ANTEC SLVER V2
    Gigabyte SH2 Mobo
    2GB RAM Corsair
    Win XP mce 2005
    Microsoft mce Keyboard
    Logitech Harmony remote

    ------------------------
    Mediaportal RC3
    with CoreAVC codec
Run awesome in 8.5, but i wonder if someday i'll upgrade from this version
    (like 8.11 for example)

    Thanks

doesn't anything after 8.5 kill dvxa? I guess if you don't need dvxa. i'm still waiting for that problem to be fixed, but I'm more than happy staying at 8.5 until it is. :)

For DXVA aceleration i only use MPC-HC for specific movies (4.1), not mediaportal.
I hate to change all the time each codec in MP for each kind of hd movie (4.1, 5.1)... so I use CoreAVC in MP...without hardware aceleration...sad but true.

I use 8.5 because i have an integrate GPU ATI HD3200, so if i try to upgrade from catalyst 8.5...
always i had a black screen and only audio in mediaportal.

    hoborg is right!

I never got DXVA working in MP with 8.4 although others have. DXVA works fine for me with AVC/h.264 and VC-1 progressive and interlaced in MPC-HC standalone player with Catalyst 8.10- others have also had success with 8.8. The really bad Catalysts were 8.6 and 8.7, and it looks like 8.11 is one to avoid too.

Following the instructions here, Thanks Hoborg! I've been able to get 95% of my mkv's, both 720p and 1080p playing with DVXA! The other files that didn't work had some kind of encoding issue that Hoborg verified for me. After running them through XVID4PSP they're using DVXA just fine now! The MPC codec worked best and the PDVD codec comes in second place from my testing.

From my testing the 4.1/5.1 switch did absolutely nothing. It was the encoding errors that prevented the files from playing with DVXA. AFter reencoding the files they played perfectly. Thanks.
