I tried to play an avi file yesterday, and it is just stopped, without any response to any keypress.

i find out, that in the background a window appeared: Avi chunk viewer. ( My MP is set up to be always on top, that's why it appeared in the background.

I clicked "Don't show this window again" so it never stopped the playback again.

What could cause this?

This happend when avi is damaged/not made correctly.
If you want to keep avi format, install VirtualDub, load AVI, set up Video & Audio to direct stream copy and save it. This should fix the problem.

The best think you can do is convert your AVI on to MKV and say good by such problems. More info on first page of this thread.

i have ONLY installed SAF 301. and i can play all things ALL HD content, no problems.
Mkv, AVI 720p 1080p and so on, DTS 5.1 and so on.

So i for one dont understand why you would need yo install CoreAVC after SAF to play HDTV content.???

i did have problem before, when i had more then one codex pack installed, or more then one codes type for same things.
but SAF solved all thise issues..

i would if i was you, try to do it the clean way, no other things than SAF and Haail media splitter.

Uninstall ALL, every last stuff you have relates to media play/sound.
run CClean + CClean reg clean, fix all.
reboot, install saf, config saf if mp. and im sure you will be good to go no problems :)

It is true, that some HDTV chanals are problematic, becouse MP internal TS reader somehow doesn't work with MPC-HC video decoder. I believe the problem is on MP side, and TS reader need to be updated. But i can be wrong...

MPC Video decoder doesn't work with h.264/AVC TV channels yet but work has been done to get ffdshow mt to work with it which is the basis of MPC video decoder- see ffdshow mt builds here- hopefully soon the same changes will be added to the MPC decoder to get h.264 TV working with DXVA then there is no excuse not to drop Cyberlink;)

Hi Hoborg.I've installed SAF 3.01 and everything works fine, well, almost everything. MTV Music Videos Plugin doesn't work. the other streaming plugins like Youtube, Apple trailers ... works fine. I know that SAF have flv support so i can't figure out what's the problem.

    Hi,

May be i'm doing something wrong or i don't understand how MPC filters work. I know that MPC video decoder don't use hardware acceleration on video with subtitles, so i disabled on MP the "show subtitles" option. When i play a .mkv video with subtitles inside but disabled, the CPU is about 30-40% busy. On the same video demuxed to delete the subtitles inside, the CPU is about 4-5% (the DxVa works ;) ).

Why if i have the subtitles disabled the DxVa is not working? The only solution is to demux all my videos with subtitles, or is there any way to disable the subtitles completely?

    Hello.
You need to disable them durning SAF install process, or in Haali configuration - autoload VSfilter to "no".
