If you would now add a dumb user proof explanation on how to get rid of the not properly closed haali splitter problem after dxva playback... i am willing to do a little research on "Tullamore Dew" to see what i can do

PS: i read some posts in the known thread that someone published a new core.dll which fixes that prob thats why i ask...

Just install the installer. Most times they're as stable as stable. But you could read the whole topic.

How can i check if DXVA is working properly? Because i have stuttering with playback of an 1080p mkv...

Whats the best codec for MKV actually.

I can select the powerDVD one or MPC one?
Both seem to work fine for me.

No matter what you select, if you use SAF, MPC is used. Atleast thats the case for me - i just looked it up with graphstudio 10 minutes ago because i have stuttering in 1080p.

Edit: I think it has todo something with my mkv. All the other HD movies i have (mkv: 720p/1080p) dont play having MP in windows mode. But this one does. CPOU load at around 70% and video and sound stuttering. Also, when i play the BD directly with PDVD8 (delivered today with my BD ROM) its totally smooth without any problems and CPU load like 10 to 20 %. So i guess there is some problem with my mkv which i made with MakeMKV.

Any experience in that?

EDIT2:: I did it again, with eac3to and MKVmerge by hand and now everything is fine.

Yep S_Behn sometimes that magically fixes any issues with the container. For ****s and giggles... download MediaInfo and export a log of the file you were having trouble with. I can look at the encode settings and see if there's any issues with DXVA compatibility.
