LATM AAC and ffdshow

Hi Hoborg,

Here in Brazil (and several other countries in Latin America) we use LATM AAC within Digital Terrestrial Broadcasts. Monogram does not work for us. Is it possible to enable use of ffdshow in Live TV to decode AAC stream? I know that libaaaf2 already works (i am using it after manually registering it) and ffdshow can use it too. The problem is after SAF install I can choose ffdshow as AAC decoder to movies but not Live Tv.

Can you help us?

I'm pulling my hair out here....

Using the unlocked version of SAF, setup in passthough mode with ffshow as a post filter... everything works fine, except...

Whenever I try to play any Blueray rips H264 with DTS sound, I get NO sound... those that have AC3 sound play fine... Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should try???

Yes... thats what I can't work out..
it *only* seems to be an issue with DTS audio in H264/Blueray rips...

You are right, i didnt include DE language in to MPC-HC player. You can downloaded DE here and place it in to system32 folder.

Yes... thats what I can't work out..
it *only* seems to be an issue with DTS audio in H264/Blueray rips...

Then just try to dissable DTS passthrough in START - SAF - FFDShow - Configure Audio

The last TsReader identify LATM AAC and conects the audio stream to Monogram, but, Monogram is not able to decode. That´s the problem.

Since libaaf2 decodes properly the LATM and since libaaf2 is included with FFdshow, would it be possible when installing SAF to register FFdshow to be an option to decode AAC in live tv so we can choose between Monogram or FFdshow? This way I think that TsReader will connect to Ffdshow and FFdshow will use libaaf2 do decode.

Well, you can try simply enable AAC in START - SAF - FFDShow - configure audio - Codecs. This will enable FFDShow AAC audio decoding, but i am not sure it will be working, becouse TS reader failed to connect to FFDshow audio decoder...

Thats the problem. I already did that. AAC is already enabled in FFDshow, but, I cant select FFDShow as AAC decoder in MP Configuration. I can select FFDshow as AAC audio decoder in Video configuration inside MP Client Configuration, but, not for AAC audio in TV.

Better explaining: In MediaPortal client configuration I can choose decoders for audio and video. I can choose ffdshow for AC3 audio, but, for AAC the only option I have is Monogram. Thats why I asked you if is it possible to register FFDshow as a alternative decoder to Monogram for AAC so I can select FFDshow inside MediaPortal Client TV configuration. I think this will solve the problem.

Anyway I will prepare a small sample and you post for you.
