I was looking on that samples at home last night. And i must say there is something stange (special) with them. The problem is MPC MPEG splitter used by SAF witch by some unknown reason failed to split this MPG files. They are working fine with MS splitter, and i have no idea why. I already report it to MPC team, but i have no idea is somebody will care about that. You can simply "fix" this samples by converting them in to MKV, now you will be able to play them in any direct show based player. This pointing that MS put such "special" samples in to Win7 by some reason - to show everybody, "hey, you must use your software..."

It is not really a big deal to uninstall SAF if you need to repeat WEI as your uninstaller/installer works really well. Might be worth while including this in a readme file or something as an unrated WEI can cause problems with Windows randomly disabling Aero, which was how I discovered this problem. Thanks again for your exellent codec pack.

Wow 463 pages long and still going strong. Awesome job on this codec pack. I've just updated to Beta 22, and nice to see Haali and everything else built in.
One thing I never got properly sorted out with the use of of the cyberlink MPEG Decoder for TV. In Australia, all TV is MPEG-2. When I use Cyberlink PDVD 9 as the MPEG-2 decoder, I have to turn DXVA off to get a properly de-interlaced signal. Otherwise, the interlace artefacts are horrible - massive combing. Any ideas as to why I can't use DXVA and still get good de-interlace?

Make sure you setup Vector adaptive deinterlacing in CCC.

Yeah I tried messing with the CCC de-interlacing settings (normally set to auto, but tried setting to vector adaptive as well) but no difference.
Here's a couple of screen shots. All I've done is turned DXVA on / off in MP PDVD 9 settings for Mpeg 2. Roger looks like he's about to Teleport with DXVA on It's like DXVA is disabling de-interlacing altogether??

That probably wasn't the best example I could give. Only the players were moving in the picture. So here are some new ones. With DXVA on, the artefacts of de-interlacing are much worse, and the picture generally looks worse. The stills don't do it justice - it really is noticeable with a moving image.
Double checked the graphs were identical in both situations. PDVD9 for video and ffdshow for audio.
As per my system spec, this is on an ATI 4670.
And interestingly, I don't observe the same problem with h.264 videos. Switching between DXVA and no DXVA for h.264 produces no noticeable picture quality difference.
I'm thinking the MPEG 2 acceleration on these ATI cards may not be all that great.

You can try beta23 too, there is new PDVD decoder.
I can say have no problems with MPEG-2 with DXVA on my ATI 4550.

hmmm couldn't work out how to bring Live TV into MPC-HC, so no obvious way to test outside MP.
Note you only really notice how bad it is with HD Mpeg-2. Its still there with SD, just not as noticeable. So I could try DVD's, but it would probably look like SD TV (ie not as noticeable).
