AW: SAF v4.00beta (StandAlone Filters) - DXVA ready (MPEG2, H.264 and VC-1).

I have problems with HDMI bitstream support. I use a Radeon HD 4550 and a Onkyo TX SR 606 Receiver but it does not work. No sound and no DTS or Dobly Digital logo in the Receiver. :( (Videos has DTS or Dolby Digital streams) I use the Beta 23 Test 5 and the latest MediaPortal Version. Any Ideas? Is it possible to create a debuging log with ffdshow and SAF? I read some tutorials and i think my config is valid but i can´t find the problem. When i uncheck the "pass through" options in ffdshow audio decoder it works but this is not a real solution because the surround sound get lost. (only Stereo)

:D

Sys:

Athlon 64 3500+
Asus M2N-MX
Sapphire Radeon HD 4550 (with native HDMI Output)
2Gb RAM
MediaPortal 1.1 SVN 31.01.10
SAF Beta 23 Test 5
Windows XP SP3

PS: DXVA works great. :)

So what is your configuration? Did you enable "Pass-through" while installing? If not, what setup did you select in the FFDShow mixer that pops up at the end of the installation? It is set to stereo by default (at least for me) so I always have to change it to "Same as input".

I'm still no expert on SAF, even though I've tried it extensively.

I enable "pass through" during the SAF installation procedure. There was no ffdshow mixer window at the end of the installation(?)

Later, i will post a screenshot of the config.

Did you add ffdshow decoder to the post processing in the videos tab in MP config?

Just looking at DXVA checker, it looks to me like VA will only work in the NV12 colorspace, so I'm thinking that my problem was actually related to colorspace.

Yes, NV12 output is correct, DXVA decoders output in that format. For example SAF setup FFDShow MPEG-2 decoder to output in that format, so you can use HW deinterlacing - so FFDShow will decode MPEG-2 in software mode, then GPU will do VA deinterlacing - result are great.

I am currently use FFDShow MPEG-2 decoder + NV12 output for liveTV under GB-PVR, it gives me the best picture i ever had for my analog TV source.

Is NV12 something that must be configured? ie. something in CCC or similar?

Is there any chance that the rtsp protocol will be implemented as a directshow filter?

    I made it!!! :D

The solution is easy...use AC3Filter instead of ffdshow. "Pass through" seems to be broken in the last builds.

    Anyone can confirm this?

BTW, AC3 filter are not able to decoder AC3+ (TrueHD) audio, so if you his such media, do not be surprised :)
