Hi hoborg,
since the latest flash update, I always get the warning during SAF install, that flash first should be installed with hint to IE version. Is that an errournous message, because latest flash version not yet known to the installer?

Just ignore it, flash is no loger used on any online videos if i am not wrong...

Hi guys (and gals)

I'm hoping someone can help.

I'm running SAF 4 RC1 (yes I know its old - but upto now its worked fine for me - I don't want to risk breaking it, by upgrading).

Anyway....

I did experience the issue of audio/video sync previously, that a 200ms ffdshow audio delay has solved. But I now have a movie that has approximately 5 second audio delay!!

Its an MP4 format, with AAC 5.1 audio.

My other AAC 5.1 movies play fine (well the ones I have tested).

The graphs between this movie and one that plays fine are identical.

According to gspot the delayed audio is: mp4a: MPEG-4 AAC LC 48000Hz 241 kb/s tot , 6 chnls (3/2 .1)

Audio from a movie that plays fine is: mp4a: MPEG-4 AAC LC 48000Hz 312 kb/s tot , 6 chnls (3/2 .1)

If I play the problem movie in M$ Media Player, it plays fine!!!

I am running SAF in passhtru mode, set as per Hoborg's instructions (with the addition of ffdshow audio delay, mixer, and a secondary profile for volume reduction for flash based content).

I have attached the two graphs - Anyone know why its showing an extra Audio Decoder thats not used???

I would drop the file into mkvmerge and change format to mkv, this should overcome the problem

That solved it - and only 30 seconds to mux

Is it worth muxing all my other movies to mkv?

Still weird why the mp4 wouldn't play right from within MP.

Oh well, more pressing issues to fix

I did and never seen a problem since, I know it can be a bit of a pain, especially as once done, putting them onto my external backup drive seemed to take forever , but it is a one off situation, until you put more video files onto HDD

Tried playing mkv file "TrueHD Sample 1 (Final Fantasy VI Advent Children).mkv" however MP just hang with no playback.
Running MP 1.1RC1 and SAF 4.0 Final.

Both haali media splitter and ffdshow audio decoder icons appear on the task bar.
Graphstudio shows haali media splitter video to MPC Video decoder to EVR and audio to ffdshow audio decoder and default directsound device.

Mediainfo shows mkv file containing 1 video sream: avc and 1 audio stream: trueHD.

What is the problem and is this correctable? I recalled this same file played fine in earlier SAF release.
