I'm sure it'll work, but if you have some issues with standard dvd playback you may want to use the newer file. I think I used winrar to extract the entire data1.cab then found the file with a windows file search.

Why would one write something like this?
Why? Because I simply suggested to give the option to the users to install or not PDVD audio/video decoders and some peoples started saying, indirectly, that it was suggested to make SAF just like any other codec packs. But I never said such a thing. I hate it when people misunderstood me and start to comment/criticizing things related to what I said just like it was what I said when in fact, it wasn't.

For instance, this:
If i would like to have more choices, I would choose any other codec pack, or commercial solutions available already, and make the settings myself inside mp.
I really don't want Hoborg to make another bulky codec pack, rather i would like to have saf included in mp, to let mp work with all the formats, subs, tv streams out of the box.
Who ever suggested such a thing? No me for sure... You just remembered to say something like this out of the blue? I don't think so. This was said because of what I said in previous posts. But this has nothing to do with what said cause I never suggested such a thing.

I'm sorry for trying to defend myself when people started putting words in my mouth that I didn't say. If that's so wrong, than I'm guilty!

OK, lets all sit back for a few moments. Breath in...breath out...in...out...

Can we now keep it polite and on topic please. Let's not ruin a great thread.

    Thanks :)

NEW MP SVN was released. I need to modify SAF to support some changes. If you want try this new SVN, you can, but do not reinstall SAF after aplying SVN .

I've installed SAF 3.30 and all I get is a black screen with audio when playing mkv files. What should I do next?

I should mention I'm running MP in vista compatibility mode on Windows 7.

Well, i didn't tryed SAF on beta OS...

Yes, but an update does not uninstall anything I suppose. In an "update" process, you should just use the available file in "system32" and do not require it to be in C: every time.

Ok, i will think about this.

the only issue i seem to encounter is playing some mkv files. Right now I have 2 movies with an mkv extension. One plays fine in both MP and WMP the other plays fine in WMP but in MP. i hear sound but the picture is all pixelated. Would this be a codec issue or something else ? I deleted everything as suggested and only installed SAF 3.30.

    thanks

    Hello.
Use MKV merge to split your file and create small example to post it here to test.

And fill you system spec. in User CP.

Just did small test with PowerDVD 8 navigator using PDVD audio & video filters. Results = no sound on one of test DVD's (Rammstein clips).
With current SAF configuration (using CLVsd.ax) all is working fine.

I will stay on MS DVD navigator = no support for PDVD navigator in SAF.

Here is quick workaround who wants to use latest SVN and reinstall SAF:

START -> Run -> type "CMD". (under Vista right click on CMD.exe - "run as administrator")

    type:

    "cd %windir%\system32" (enter)
    "regsvr32.exe mpadecfilter.ax" (enter)

Now MPC MPA decoder filter apear in MP configuration :)

Finally got my htpc connected today to my barco graphics 808 projector. I built a 7.5 ft wide screen in 16x9 format. Running MP with the StreamedMP skin and SAF. I'm using a hauppauge 2250 card with dual atsc tuners. With the default MP settings and SAF it plays HDTV perfectly. Even the .ts recording played back without a hiccup. Thanks Hoborg!

    Hi,

    Please can you help ?
The instructions say "place CLVsd.ax on "C:\" root"...
I've (hopefully) extracted the relevant file from the PowerDVD package, and placed it on my root drive, but this is NOT C:\ , it's F:\
When I installed saf330.exe, CLVsd.ax was not found.
Does your application search for C:\CLVsd.ax ?
Or does this mean I extracted the wrong file from the PowerDVD package ?

    Thanks.
    Steve
