If you have 100% working HDTV, you should create graph and post it here- this can help.

But it's commercial isn't it?:( ffdshow is free and supposedly works (but without DXVA). I think the DIVX h.264 decoder is going to be free but it's not out yet- Beta 3 apparently does work with HDTV but has no built in deinterlacing yet.

Just to finish my day beautifully I've just tried the following from the suggested site http://movies.apple.com/movies/sony_pictures/underworld3/underworld3-tlr1_h1080p.mov and it works perfectly on WMP but black screen on MP.

Okay up at 5:30 tomorrow so I'm going to take myself to bed while I have some sanity left.

Is it using the MPC decoder? Go to file >properties and it should say what is being used? I found the MPC decoder would work in WMP11 for progressive but most of the interlaced files made the player controls very very slow to respond and had to press Ctrl-Alt-Del to close. On MediaPortal I still just get a blank screen.

With CoreAVC 185 my HDTV is working but without hardware accl, f.e. Anixe HD... The CPU load is then between 60 and nearly 100%. (Systemspecs on the left)

Hoborg, I started re-encoding that alien file and it's going to take about 45 hours! holy smokes. did you pick h.264 21 ultra HQ? I think another one in the list is 16 ultra HQ. What's the difference? Maybe I need to find a quicker machine to offload the encoding to.

    I tried a new optiplex 755 and I get 6fps instead of 1fps. So, I think that'll work much better. :)

    Hoborg,
Back on my picture from Filmerit there is a problem with the DivX Decoder Filter - I've resintalled SAF having deleted the defective filter and uninstalled SAF and I have no DIVX decoder - I understand from your pictures on the first post that SAF covers DIVX so am wondering if I've got the wrong end of the stick with this filter - obviously I can go and download divx but I don't want to upset the at least semi working stability I seem to have reached.

    Thanks
