Yeah, and with the new version of media portal and saf I cannot let the mpa codec registered. I have to unregister and then use ac3filter. If I leave both registered and select the ac3 filter in MP configuration it will use mpa the same way.
Having to unregister mpa cause problem with sound on some old files. :/
Maybe we should post on mpc-hc foruns.

do you know what board the mpc/mpa people post on?

I read that Cyberlink have now modified their filters so you can't use them in other software- does anyone know if this is correct?

Hi there,

Greetings to the Czech Republic, thank you so much for this awesome release! I finally got my videos to play properly :)

I installed the latest SVN and configured MP and SAF according to hoborg's instruction. Now I only have the problem that MP is incredibly slow, it freezes for a couple of seconds everytime I browse through the menu, which kinda sucks ;(

I updated Ati Catalyst to v. 9.3, didn't help either.

Got any solution?

So once again, thanks 10000 times @ hoborg :)

Thanks.
I am afraid, browse through the menu have nothing to do with SAF...
Possible remote controler problem?

I had this issue using the STreamedMP skin. It had to do with the sound effects while in the menu. Go into MP config and the General settings and turn off skin sound effects. That fixed it for me!

Not this time, file "CLVsd.ax" remain 100% same.

I wish I found SAF earlier! I spent about a month messing with different codecs until I stumbled upon this thread. My only modification is having to use AC3filter for spdif audio. If MPA did DTS audio over spdif without skipping I'd be in heaven! :) Thanks alot Hoborg! If you're ever vacationing in the USA stop by my house for a beer and brat. :)

Be sure i will remember that :)

Hi there,

thanx 4 your replies!

@ akajester: Thanx 4 the hint, that definitely helped, MP is running a lot smoother than before, but still freezes for a second or two. Maybe I need to deactivate some other effects? I'll try tomorrow :)

@ hoborg: It's not a remote control issue, I didn't configure my rc yet, only use keyboard & mouse.

I meant the Cyberlink AVC/h.264 decoder:D - I think they have modified the latest version of the PDVD8 and PDVD9 h.264 decoder so you can't use it in anything else other than PowerDVD.

The other thing I did was turned off every plugin that wasn't necessary, and removed the items from the menus. By default they have some goofy stuff, like tetris and sudoku. Turn all the stuff off and only have the items you need in the menus.

Also, run MP in window mode, and have the task manager open in the background. Check your cpu usage as you move around. If your cpu is spiking over 90% you may need to clean up your computer, kill some background processes to free up some cpu. Perhaps your ram is used up and windows is swapping to the hard drive? Just some ideas of things to look for outside of MP. Good luck!
