I experienced the same problem as the rest of you. Until this get sorted, you might just want to install FFDShow in the meantime.

Or perhaps older SAF will work?

EDIT: piernik, I merged your thread with this, since it is SAF-related.

Yep, it appears XVID/MP3 bug is from the 3.49 beta (had no problems in 3.47). *remember, 3.49 is BETA* But from the previous ~4 posts, it looks like its the same issue.

    Hi,
I've installed SAF codec pack and mkv and all avis are working fine.
But I have three movies that are playing not correct. On prevoius codec everything was fine (but I want to have SAF)
    Here is MediaInfo
What to do (and how) with that file to make it work?

    EDIT:
Hm, should work. Try to mux AVI to MKV by MKV merge.

here you go dude sample of the 2 files that aint playing

cheers and keep up the excellent work

Wierd, no problem here, both videos play on first try:

You can try to disable xvid decoder (make MPC-HC to handle xvid/divx) by this reg file:

    Hello there,

question, hope you have a answer. I watched to different dvds. All Region2. Blade Trinity and Demolition Man. So, Blade works AC3 fine. Demoltion Man not. Tried Demolition Man via VLC paththrue and its all fine, i get my 6 channel support. Second are there a way to simulate dolby surround via headphone, is there a switch?

Question to all with DTS via SPDIF problem:

Is this problem you are fighting with?

Sorry to tell, I have the same problem now after a clean XP install. I have problems with Dolby too.

Similar problem has happened for me. Oddly enough, some DTS movies will play fine. At first I thought that it was encoding that was the problem, but then I got it to play fine outside of mediaportal. I now have ffdshow installed and set to decode audio which fixes my problem.

I believe that with vista I didn't have this problem. I am now using windows 7.

I've solved this problem with a restart of system. I think a bug of sounddevice or anything. Now it works. On the first site of this thread, this setup is not right. It was set to Stereo. Please confirm that you set up spdif to get dolby work on a external receiver.
