I am trying to use graphstudio to see what's actually happening with my codecs, but am having trouble getting ANY data from "Connect to remote Graph".

Can anyone help? Not sure where to begin on this. I am running Vists 64, Graphstudio sees the stream when you click "connect to remote graph", but it just does not show any data what-so-ever in the graph window.

Also, DTS Stuttering issues for me as well. I wouldn't mind switching to AC3Filer for the audio, but need to know whats going on to remove the proper codec to do this.

    Thanks!

EDIT: I do get the process ID of the stream from MP, but nothing in graphstudio.

Whilst I can't help you with graphedit / studio (FWIW I always had trouble using it on one of my Vista x64 builds and I never found out why, it simply did not work) you might want to try out the AC3 filter as I have placed some instructions (post #2054) on how to set MP up to use it. The instructions assume that you have already installed AC3filter and set it up in the config of that filter correctly.

I also had to unregister the mpadecfilter and install ac3filter to avoid stutter with all audio streams via spdif (saf3.47 & saf beta's) and graphstudio gives a clean graph, no unused filters. But i love the saf pack, it's the only thing i use on a fresh install :)

    keep it up!

I got AC3Filter working, my next question was on what codec can i unregister to alleviate the double rendering, as I can't get graphstudio to work right on Vista x64 - but Rayures, thanks for the pre-emptive post!

I just ordered a Xonar 1.3 HDAV Asus audio card, too. Seems to do all I will ever need until the technology is changed again. Anyone have any good comments on it? ASUSTeK Computer Inc.

i'll admit I did not read all 200+ pages

but I tried searching through them to find the latest PDVD instructions. When I use the instructions on the front page to get the CLVsd.ax file, it says it's 8.0 and is out of date and should be 8.4. I cannot find out how to get 8.4. I am guessing I would do the same thing, except the name in the Cab file may be different and the exe I need to download will be different, can anyone point me in the right direction or to the post that provides it?

    Thanks.

Also I see a lot of people are going to AC3filter now, which is what I used to have before I installed SAF, has this been relatively successful, I may go that route now???

take a look at The HTPC / Windows 7 Chronicles: You Asked, We Answer! : Introduction - Review Tom's Hardware at some point they say a lot about the Xonar.

I will add option to install/not install MPA audio decoder to next SAF beta - this will alow simple AC3 filter installation as an addon (with no double decoding).

But i think ac3 filter is not perfect, ac3 filter will fail to play some audio format (MPEG/L3,FLAC for example), so it is possible, you will have no sound on some videos if you install it...

That's right, you need ffdshow with DTS/AC3 disablet, so it handles the rest of the audio formats.

Thanks Hoborg! But I think the best option is to add ac3filter in post processing, as has already been discussed in this thread by me, akajester and others. This way you dont lose the capability to play all the audio formats.

Do a little search people, try around the pages 135 of this thread.

Hoborg, thanks again for the great work, been following your new betas and soon will update my production htpc.
    Keep up the good work!

settings help - mpc / pdvd page

Can anyone help me get these settings correct :)

I am running the 3.49beta 16 SAF , with the pdvd option... on an core2duo 2.33 with 4g ram, ATI 4850. (vista x86) MP 1.02
I'm using the ATI 4850 HDMI to my HK avr-254 receiver, and then to my samsung 50 (all hdmi) (Klipsch Quintet III 5.1 w/ 10" klipsch sub (speaker crossovers set to 120hz and sub to around 80.

Do I select "Stereo", "3 front 2 rear (where's the sub?), dolby, or spdif?
and do I down mix AAC to stereo?

and for the PDVD settings should I output to SPDIF or 6 speakers?

    TIA!
