Does the file play in MPC-HC? If it doesn't then the problem is with MPCVIDEODEC not SAF.
What method are you using to turn dxva on/off?

To test in MPC-HC => Goto MPC-HC homepage, download the program (quite small), extract the zip to a directory (no need to install just extract the files). Run MPC-HC and drag the file into the player. It's the best stand alone player, it's free and it doesn't even require an install.

Are you using vobsub to disable DXVA, I'm not sure what you mean by disable dxva.

EDIT: Sorry i just see it here - "Try to disable DXVA - double click on "Disable_DXVA_(h.264,VC1).reg" - you will find this file in SAFxxx.zip."

First step to diagnose is always to try in MPC-HC.

PS: I notice you have the same video card/os as me (780G/HD3200). You def should be getting DXVA, I would suggest you start with trying a known dxva compliant file in MPC-HC and check that CPU useage is <10%.

    Hi,

I have some issues with the sound on Discovery Channel using the MPA decoder, that is, I get no sound. However, there is no problem with the sound on other channels (e.g SVT1/2, TV3, TV4 on Swedish Boxer (DVB-T)).

I have tried with the Nvidia Audio decoder and AC3 filter and the sound is ok on Discovery, the conclusion is that somehow MPA decoder is not fully compatible with Discovery Channel.

Any ideas how to get Discovery working with MPA as well? Can I provide some logs or perhaps a sample recording?

I'm still on MP 1.0 and using SAF 3.30.

Looking at AC3Filter, Discovery is using MPEG Audio 1/0 (mono) 48000Hz and the other channels are using MPEG Audio 2/0 (stereo) 48000Hz

    Hi!

This is a known problem whit this channels on Boxer...
it is because they are sending the audio in a bad mono quality.
you have to yous ffdshow tryouts, or something for the audio and yous the libavcodec for mp1/2 decoding...
then the audio works joust fine.
you can even reprocess it to stereo or AC3 if you'd like... :)

I've just installed saf but trying to start a mp4 only results inan error message that it can't be played. Codec h264 and aac.
I've tried the file in mpc-player and it starts ok here. I've configured the videosettings as described in the images.

Anybody that knows how to fix this?

Uh, there is nothing in logs.
Try to play not working mp4, then send logs.

    EDIT:
Or you mean stream? "Failed to open file:rtsp://localhost/stream0"

Hmmm, tried to play the mp4 and got the error message. I'm trying to play it through the tvseries plugin.
