Hello,

I have installed the windows 7 RTM x64 as well. Unfortunately I can't seem to get dxva with any of my .mkv's. Everytime I use graphedit it shows that the .mkv's are being decoded my microsoft DTV-dvd video decover. I have set MPC in mediaportal configuration and I have installed and uninstalled SAF a few times and nothing seems to work.

Also I have coreavc installed and tried to use that but no luck. One other thing I have noticed while using graphedit, it display "vmr input0 video renderer" after the microsoft DTV-dvd video decoder. Would this imply that I am using vmr instead of evr? I definitely have evr checked off in mediaportal.

Thanks

Wierd, i tested Win7 x64 TRM and MPuses MPC-Video decoder and all was working OK.
I need to wait until my SSD wil be replaced and start some Win7 support in SAF.
BTW - can you send me SAF.log.txt?

Thanks.

I'm running Windows7 Ultimate, x86 (ATI 3200HD, Catalyst), MP1.1A, and SAF 3.49b23.

Just reporting my experience that if I try to decode an MKV with the Cyberlink decoder - I get a BSOD crash and reboot. The MPC Video Decoder does not cause a BSOD when playing MKV files, and DXVA works.

I have also found that live TV playback is choppy using the Cyberlink MPEG-2 decoder - but if I use the "MPC-MPEG-2 Video Decoder (Gabest)" the playback is fine, and seems faster than using the Cyberlink decoder.

I finally tried using AC3filter as my audio decoder (SPDIF), and it has solved my DTS audio issues with the receiver. Interesting considering SPDIF passthrough mode in the "MPC-MPA Decoder Filter" didn't work..

If i recall correctly Cyberlink MPEG-2 is using DXVA for SD material while MPC MPEG-2 is using software decoding.

This may be the reason in your case.

P.S. Another thing that is really annoying is the fact that each time an svn is installed MP is re-registering all it's internal filters again. I am not sure for this one though. Could anyone confirm?

Is YouTube the only online video category that does not work for you? Different sites use different stream types. YouTube (on HQ), NASA and TedTalks all use MP4 streams.

Some are working in the online video plugin, like Apple, but not all. Youtube is not the only one that is not working.

    Pdvd broke SAF?

Ive just installed a Bluray player in my machine that came with pdvd 7. I installed pdvd 7 (to play blu ray disks) and used the mod on this thread to launch it

All appeared to be going well until I tried to play a file that was working ok before the installation.

Now I get get the error message:

    Unable to play:
    Video Codec H264
    Audio Codec AAC

when I try to play the file. It appears the installation has broken SAF. :(

Can anyone tell me how to fix SAF so that it works again?

Yes after making the post above I downloaded the latest beta and reinstalled it. That fixed the MP problem, ... but now PowerDVD is broken. When I try to start it, it opens then closes straight away. Any ideas?

I tested SAF on PDVD 7.3, but not on 7.0, not idea...
