Hoborg,
I installed the testSAF.
I searched for different files with different audio types. In red or green is the result. If it is green, I give the info from my receiver.
[Fast & Furious 4.mkv]
Video: MPEG4 Video (H264) 1280x544 23.98fps [Video]
Audio: AAC 48000Hz 6ch 4608Kbps [Audio] >>> Error: 2CH 44100hz PCM!
Note1: The two files with the error (in red) do work in saf400beta18.exe with the use of AC3Filter as postprocessing.
IMHO -> I belive the first file probaly didnt wont work, because SAF uses Monogram AAC for AAC decoding, and monogram AAC doesn't handle 6ch AAC properly, i think that FFDShow should be used for 6ch AAC.
QUESTION: Can someone tell me how to easilly create a small sample (of 5-10 seconds) from an original mkv/avi without re-encoding?
To create a sample use mkvmerge (free), split the file into 2 pieces, you can choose the size of the firt piece = 10mb
